Usually lucky enough to get away every summer. Still hoping to do so but if it's not possible I'll just stay in Liverpool rather than go anywhere in the UK. Overpriced, overcrowded and we all know what the weather is like.

I do think it's very shortsighted to think we can adopt a New Zealand/Australia approach when we are so connected to Europe. I also look forward to updates of which Tory MP has popped up on the French Riviera on any given day this summer. My guess is there'll be a fair few.

All a bit crap isn't it? Especially as we're likely to have every adult vaccinated in a month or so. Perfectly fine to sit in a pub or go to a beach in the UK, but doing so abroad is forbidden. What nonsense.

Of course is just one of the consequences of letting it spread, accepting it as a fact of life, learning to live with it etc etc. Countries that have actually tried to suppress it aren’t going to just let us in.

Just looking at the Balkans, which is where I'm headed, most countries have got a grip on things to the point they're in a better position than the UK. Given that's the case, surely me spending a week on the Adriatic is no greater thereat than me seeing the delights of London.

You shouldn't have to isolate if you've had 2 doses of the vaccine. The USA seems to have much more sensible rules than the UK. Somehow we seem to be much stricter than last summer even when you're vaccinated.

Theres barely any benefit of being vaccinated in the UK.

Exactly. And every single fan who went had to have 2 PCR tests to get in and out (which they had to pay for).
Why bother?

But that's the thing, I think countries are letting us in. From the article on the BBC site most of the main tourist destination countries are fine accepting British tourists (except France) and I believe Poland is fine once you've been vaccinated. The problem is you'll have to quarantine when you get back to the UK. I strongly suspect that many will choose to travel anyway and jib off the quarantine when they get home as it was not policed at all last year.

It's daft, especially coming a day after the government were boasting about how many people have been vaccinated.
