Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I'm reserving judgment until Cummings produces the evidence but I have been enjoying him lobbing the likes of Johnson, Hancock and Kuenssberg under that bus. And as lead brain in the vote leave campaign and as a senior government advisor in the subsequent Brexit Conservative government now want to treat him like a pariah, it's so delicious.
What would be funny.. “whilst your here Mr Cummings, save us a load of fannying about in the future, have you got anything to tell us about Brexit as well ?”

so 2 major talking points.

Unfit to be PM. - anybody with a modicum of semi intelligence knew this yet here he is, still in the job.

10’s of thousands died who didn’t need to.- the British public will turn a blind eye now, they don’t give a toss any more.

This country is at an all time low with its government and the state of the people.

Is anyone listening to them anymore, Covid will be around for a long time from now so as long as the data remains as it is now then we have nothing to worry about. Some people need to turn the TV off for a while and go and enjoy there lives instead of looking at the 'What ifs'
Damn right. I am just going to enjoy time with my friends, time at work and time on the Blackwood and Newport pub circuits as well as look forward to the next Everton game I’ll be at and Iceland later in the year.

There won’t be any more lockdowns, this is based on opinion as I think another one will ruin us all, as well as the economy (which Boris cares about more).

I’m no longer looking at the news as we shouldn’t keep having these figures posted daily all the time, especially how it batters mental health. Brazil stopped doing this, only for the Twitterati, the MSM and their pressure tactics to restore them, only for it to work.

After work on Friday, I’m going to the Prince of Wales in Cardiff not far from where I work. Haven’t been in a pub since October until last week and it felt just damn right. I’ve missed my friends like crazy and got a bit emotional when I got home at 12am, before watching Eurovision on catch up with a pizza and a few beers.

What I did this weekend is just what we all should be doing; going out and enjoying ourselves while avoiding this scaremongering clap trap.

June 21st will happen I think, but not just because the figures look adequate, but also because Boris never denied his “Bodies pile high” remark. He is secretly trying to impose heed immunity and I hope we get out of this on the data come the 21st.

Keeping two metres apart from others isn’t social at all. It’s just abnormal and reminds me of playground games where you have to keep away from others.

He mentioned the referendum he was instantly shut down by the tory.

All the numbers have sneaked up a bit from last week - Hope it's just a blip
It
They have surge tested in a few areas. I hope its cos of that.

Hospital admissions are still normal by all accounts.
It’s got to be; look at Bolton’s figures if you put a Bolton postcode into the .gov website.

The increase in hospital admissions on there don’t look good, but that’s dated from last week a few days ago, not the present and apparently the total number of current admissions is good, although going up and down, it’s still not straining the NHS.

This guy was at the heart of government so anything he claims he is just as cuprable as anyone at that time - plus I think his drive to Barnard castle etc created breaks in the loyal lockdown with the public breakdown, when he was not sacked immediately..,....
Yes it was badly managed, but he was at the heart of it now blaming his cronies, but not himself .....
Everyone knows early on this government on many points balls it up, it's not rocket science - shortage of PPI etc etc travel from abroad not stopped etc etc .......
The vaccination programme was their saviour - yet not banning travel from India is another problem lying ahead ....... incompetence on a mass scale plus snouts in the trough on contracts etc heads should roll, but they won't ......

I saw a fella yesterday when I was out running, with a scarf wrapped around his face and a mask over the scarf.

He looked like something out of a horror film.

Hardly anyone is in hosy, hardly anyone is dying, yet certain sections of the press still continue with the “ we’re all going to die “ narrative.

It needs to stop.
I will continue to wear a mask as it protects others and myself (to a lesser degree)...and as an aside I have enjoyed not having a cold/flu this past year. Strangely, I wonder if we will adopt the Japanese model in the UK that if you have a cold and don't wear a mask then YOU are the bad person. How many times has some snotty so and so infected you and you have subsequently lost money because of being sick.
I remember after the first lockdown being in a post office (work, unfortunately) and asking the person behind me to maintain social distance as I small (and feel) his ciggie breath on my neck. 'Lockdown's over P******' was his response.
I will mourn the day I am instructed to take off my mask. I'm not a conspiracy nut but I think it has helped keep infections down.
the one thing I have learned over this last year is that people are all for helping until it inconveniences them minutely. I mean, how hard is it to wear a mask?

I respect everyone’s right to make their own decisions, but wearing a scarf and a mask on top, screams attention seeking loon to me.
