Why has it taken so long? They've had millions of doses of AZ that they know full well were never going to be used.
I think for the AZ the delay has been checking on quality control as there were problems at one of the facilities. JNJ supply has also been hit with issues at its plant so along with the hold that JNJ had making a lot of people switch to the mRNA ones I think they were wanting to make sure they had adequate supply as they ramped up younger age groups and teenagers.

Until its safe

Its a relative position; but back in the day, pre covid, how many folk returned home after a break in the med with dodgy guts? I did.

For the sake of balance, I am not a fling it all open merchant, and personally, I wouldnt do anything different than I have done since it kicked off.

So what is "safe"?

To me it would be over 40s, but especially over 50s being fully vaxed and a higher % of under 40s with at least one jab.

But as we keep seeing, there'll always be some new scary variant.

I'm not off on holiday, I've got nothing booked, but there has to be some steps at some point.

Australia now - as well as they're doing and have done, are locking their population in possibly until this time next year. That is effing mental, when they should be vaccinating and vaccinating.

Now I'm not saying we should open up everything, but the UK aren't the only country allowing travel, especially in Europe.

You have to get tested, you have to pay for it, even if you're going and coming to green list countries. The evidence is there that with masks on planes the risk of transmission is significantly reduced. We have to try, or we might as well be a hermit kingdom, because there'll always be some dick head who shouts it's not safe.

We're on what, a rolling average of 23 deaths per week? More people die falling down the stairs each week, I'd imagine.

Think the over 50s in the UK have at least one. Must have, cos Im getting my 2nd next week, and I am a young (lol) looking 56 YO.

Not sure many families with kids will be going anywhere while their kids are in school.
