Happy swill and muck day :drunk:
Gutted, supposed to be meeting up with a few mates who haven't been out since b4 last March, but have had there 2 jabs so are feeling safe about being out again. We've got a few tables booked in one of the locals for this afternoon, followed by a visit to another re-opening haunt later on to meet up with some familiar faces who've not been seen since dik-dok either.
But got my first jab yesterday morning, worked the full day after it but started to feel a bit nauseated, achey and tired towards the end of my shift. Got home and went straight to bed only to wake up abruptly around midnight freezing cold and felt like my body had been pummelled. Been in and out of sleep with mad vivid dreams and at one stage I woke with a stinging headache.
I had to phone into work sick about 4.30am only to be put through the ringer by some blert Kopite who was furloughed for the better part of the first lockdown, has been off 4 times to self-isolate over covid, (his missus and kids suspected of having it), and took a few days off after both his jabs.
Now I'm already getting sent pictures of pints, my Mrs has took the week off and has just gone out to meet her mates as well and I'm lying in bed feeling like shoite... Everton that:mad::mad::mad:

Just been told by a mate who lives in Bolton that Bolton hospital have 23 patients on the COVID ward.
20 of them were invited to have the vaccine previously but for whatever reasons refused.
IF that is true then what can we do? Enforce another nationwide lockdown to accommodate the anti vaxxers
amongst us?

Its difficult because you can't force people to have one but its obvious that they work. If you're above 40 you should definitely have the vaccine. Young people I sort of get the argument that the chances of hospitalisation are low but if you're old theres no excuse.

It would be so frustrating if lockdown measures continue because people are reading nonsense on Facebook and then aren't getting jabbed.

Sounds like there was a 'surge vaccination' operation that took place over the weekend in Bolton which is really encouraging - apparently many people who turned up had been eligible in the past but hadn't taken it up - utterly perplexing.

You are correct though, at what point do we start to expect people to take personal responsibility again? We can't be spoon-fed by the government indefinitely.

Couple of my close mates are very anti-vax and won’t be getting the jab, and in fact went to Manchester at the weekend to take part in a ‘freedom march’.

Both highly intelligent people but have gone down the misinformation rabbit hole. Not sure what can be done for people who won’t believe anything from an ‘official’ source.

My brother is exactly the same and nothing you can say will change his mind, including the death of people that he knew.

That’s it. If someone decides they don’t believe anything from the Mainstream media, the government, the NHS, PHE, MHRA, SAGE, BMA, GMC, then it’s difficult to know what other legitimate sources you could point to, to convince them.

That's doing a lot of work here to then equate it with 'anti vaxxers'.

A few months back, there were quite a few examples of people offered jabs, but they were miles away and they couldn't get time off work to attend. It's probably not that black and white in reality.

Same.. One mate is highly intelligent but is balls deep in conspiracy theories. He's refusing the jab. He's 46. Hopefully it doesn't come back to haunt him..

I was a bit wary at first but the figures are showing that they work. I'm booked in for a week on Friday..

Well they’ll probably be the only ones catching it going forward, so their choice really.
Get seriously ill and maybe die? Or get vaccinated?
It’s a tricky one.

But apart from that mate are you having a good day?
