I think (and hope) that the Indian variant is not too much to worry about.

We saw an increase in daily cases last week (up to about 2600) and the last two days have been closer to 2000. These are relatively small numbers considering our population and the number of tests being carried out. A few hundred imported cases can dramatically impact the data.

They seem to be pretty confident in the vaccine.

I think the media are delighted to sensationalise and I think that the government are actually keen to let them in this case. We are getting to the younger age groups who are more likely to be vaccine hesitant. This latest variant might boost take up in the younger age groups.

Add to that, the fact that by and large the public have had enough of the restrictions and want to start living again.

The general attitude seems to be a shrug of the shoulders and let’s get on with it.

I agree.

I feel that the regulars who post on here have taken it far more seriously than most. Places appear to be back to relative normality anyhow.

I'm having to travel up to Liverpool next weekend to attend my brothers funeral. Our second jabs are scheduled for the following week so it looks as though we're going to miss them. We could rush back, but we want to spend a few days up there as we haven't seen any friends or family for over 18 months now. Hopefully it won't be too onerous rearranging our appointments.

These past two weekends when I’ve been out and about, there’s been long periods of the day, when I’ve completely forgotten that we’re supposed to be living in some state controlled, dystopian society.

It’s like a weight has been lifted and a wonderful feeling.

One of my best mate runs a B&B in Hale -lovely self contained rooms, in the outbuildings of his barn conversion.

They’ve got a family room, that’s like a small flat, it’s that big.

He’ll run you around too.

Cheers mate. It sounds really good but we've already booked an apartment close to Lark Lane. My wife is the original Mrs Organised. Within an hour of knowing the details she'd booked the apartment, an overnight stay in Chepstow on the way up, and a table at an Indian restaurant we like there.
