Some of the rise could be due to increased testing, if you look for it you find more, but it positivity also increasing so it does look like the outbreak is currently growing. Seems like a good place to increase vaccination rates across all age groups if possible.

This is quite an interesting idea - not sure how it would be done operationally but if we work on the assumption that most adults in Bolton have had the vaccine already like the rest of the country, they could vaccinate all the unvaccinated adults with only a relatively small number of vaccines. Would hardly even make a dent in the daily vaccines administered. If we can have surge testing, maybe we could have surge vaccinations too.

Absolutely, seek and you will find. The hospitalisations and daily deaths tell the true story......

The only way to stop this catching fire everywhere now is to stop the 17th May re-opening of indoor hospitality.

It will turn into a wild fire in very short order if that goes ahead.

Cracking series of raves though apparently.

They are TEST events ffs.

They are testing how the cases will rise, and are doing so because they know that the vast majority of people have enough protection to ensure the tests don't result in hospitalisations and deaths.

53 more cases in seven days in a town of 200,000, with increased testing, and we should be stopping everything?

Alright Dave.

Based on what?

No surges detected nationally, few clusters that need dealing with, but no increases in positive tests.

On what basis are you cancelling 17th May?

Lol.

The Wirral held no test events either, they where all over this side - like he knows full well.

Indian variant in the north west of England and the numb nuts council leaders and chief medical officer were begging for 4 unmasked non-socially distanced events full of thousands of people to take place.

Well done everyone concerned, you just turned a county where the virus was under control into one now fighting off a new variant.

I wonder if we'll see these media whores in the media in the next few days and weeks maybe apologising for the potential calamity they gave rise to?

No, I dont think so either.

Thank God that the vaccines will defeat it.

We dont know that.

The lockdown has capped the cases off, just as it did last spring/summer.

Show me the effect of the vaccines...

Its there, under daily deaths.

And don't give me lockdown bolloxs, we have been in "lockdown" for 6months, still didn't stop the surge in Feb.

The deaths plummeted once we started jabs.
