80% of a permanent wage

How do they work out 80% of self-employed with varying monthly incomes?

You give a UBI. It's probably a policy that's not ideal under normal circumstances, but under these circumstances whereby you need blanket support without the administrative burden on a shelled out Home Office, it's a no brainer. As it is, there's no way on earth that anyone who is self employed will not be going to work. Not a chance. The Universal Credit payment would cover about 25% of our rent.

I asked earlier what an acceptable UBI is per person.

This is of course a lovely story but did anyone else think she is probably going to catch a mild cold next week and pass on anyhow?

No? Just me then (awaits incoming arrows  ).

I’m assuming photographer who took this picture was masked up also. Hopefully she’s not had too many visits from da meeja!

Just been on a train from Portsmouth back home to Chichester and i seemed to be the only person on it even though it was peak hour and usually rammed at this time.

Don’t think there’s a right answer to that question.

UBI trials I’ve read about have tested at ~€1000 per month ( back when the euro was worth less), but for some that wouldn’t be enough to cover the mortgage, while for others it would be a substantial increase to income / safety net.

I’m still a fan of UBI in principle, and half-hoped that was gonna be the announcement today, but while not perfect, think they’ve made a strong backing of workers today.

Well that's like I mentioned earlier maybe they can tailor the UBI based on someone's current income. Like if my company is paying for me to be off I shouldn't get a UBI on top of that as it's not fair.
