There's so much you can do. For example, I ditched monthly mobile phone contracts and bought a phone outright, second hand but still 'new' - the Huawei P30 Pro. £10 a month I pay for that. In the long run it will save me £400-£500 when compared to a 24 month contract.

Yeh people are, understandably, just too used to having too much.

The cuts have taken our debt to GDP right down, giving us more breathing space when it comes to getting through all this in the end.

I'm not saying I agreed with the cuts and i've voted Labour in every single election

These people are our backbone. Without them we'd collapse far worse than any of those cockney wide-boys in the banking sector that Gordon Brown bailed out.

And the optimistic part of me hopes that we recognise that, when we get out the other side of this.

He does, but he's been stood next to Johnson for a lot of these conferences and has less constraints on him than any Chancellor has ever had. When this is over and he has to work out how this is going to be paid for is going to show whether he is any good or not, or has the countries as a whole best interests or not.

You've just alluded to the fact that Boris is in charge so I don't think he has a particularly high bar to get over to be in contention.
