Lots of curves here - the European excess deaths tracking agency. the red dashed line is a significant rise in the expected death rate. Shows very clearly the age groups worst affected (younger than you might think) and also worth remembering that the upward swing of the spikes was generally brought down with the stringent measures.

Hospital figures - 16 deaths were announced today, down 16 on yesterday and down 5 on last Sunday. 9 deaths were in English hospitals, down 21 on yesterday and down 2 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 25.57

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 10 deaths were announced today, down 25 on yesterday and up 3 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 26.14

For the 60 day cut off, 20 deaths were announced today, down 56 on yesterday and down 7 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 64.13

Looks like the Indian strain is growing in concern. Can't see how we go backwards now in restrictions just hope the NHS is up to the task if the worst fears are realised.

Nothing in that article to see it as a “VOC” at this stage, especially since they state in it that there isn’t enough information available at present to declare it as such.

I honestly cannot see it evading the vaccines, every time a new variant comes along the MSM seem to hope it “escapes” them just so fear sells news.

I think the 28 day average fell?, 183 this week over the past seven days and 251 over the past seven days on Sunday 11th April.

Always a good post, especially since we never get on the MSM sites the 60 day cut off.

If India were not manufacturing the vaccines for us they would have been on the red list quite some time ago.

Its definitely time to get them on the red list.
Not a chance Boris is panicking because the EU are talking to India again in a few weeks about a trade deal. He's desperate to get a step on them.

So he's clearly following the science economics as he's always done.
