I know outside transmission is fairly low, but social distancing has seemed to have completely gone already.

It could become a real issue when inside of places open up in May.

It'll be a catastrophe.

Indoor dining and drinking is a key driver for infection - which still remains stubbornly high.

It can be done well and safely by the pub or restaurant but I think the mindset of people will be gone by then with the June date being so close.
There is a case to be made that, indoors, more control can be exerted over outdoors in termsmof social distancing.

However, hours on hours indoors leads to an aerosol problem. These restaurants and pubs are ill-equipped to ventilate their places adequately.

Yeah but by then most people will be double dipped by our AZ saviours.
We're going to find out exactly how resilient these jabs are soon. I pray they are very resilient and do the job we've been promised they will. However, the variants are a very real concern.

Went out for some swill for the boys birthday, only just thawed out, sitting in a seafront restaurant outside is not fun.

Felt good to feel normal for the first time in a long, long time.

All hail the heroes from AZ.

In related news, had a chat with the missus and she has her first vaccine booked for Wednesday.

Spot on that the missus is getting it mate. I know that would have been quite stressful not knowing if she was/wasn't

As I say Dave, not much else we can do, the digits are going in the right direction, we just need to be ready if they start going up, which we wont be, but yeah, we find out if these are the silver bullets we all need.

My local, for example, did 3 two hour sessions with a hour cleaning break in between each. The managers main concern was keeping the staff who had to work healthy. They are an independent place too.

A lot of restaurant can, and should be able to have a lunch service, close from the public for a few hours and then have a dinner service.

But the problem there is are you chasing ££ or health.

As I say we had a chat and her concern was with her being so young she felt like she was jumping ahead of somebody a bit older and in more need, I think that's why she was stalling, but its sorted now, so all good.

Soon as they start going up the brakes should go on - push the May 17th date back to mid-June; the 21st June date back to July.

We just came through a disaster for this country - any chance we could go back into that again has to be avoided at all cost...and bollocks to anyone who says otherwise.

HEALTH OVER WEALTH.

No appetite for restrictions while numbers are dropping Dave.

From most people.

That's what I said: when they go up = shut it down. Then reopen - then shut down agian if cases rise.

By the way: that ^^^ that was the plan this lot had back in March 2020...then they forgot about it, because...well...that's what these scum do because they listen only to business interests.
