Huge pity.

This under 30 ruling has been really unhelpful here in the UK this move by Denmark will only add to the worry. Myself work with young adults who because of mental health medication were deemed of risk so are inbetween their Oxford AZ vaccines, now having real trouble getting the 30s and under in for the second.
And all very internationally embarrassing considering the crowing and silly willy waving we in the UK gave the EU when they raised Oxford AZ concerns first, this could had been avoided had we not been this paranoid state and listened rather than short term boasting. Very poor governance by the UK.

I mean we have a date when things return to normal, 21st June, why are people assuming there will be any restrictions?

Tbf there's still no plan on foreign travel (not that I'm bothered this year but it's a big thing!) and the government have extended the relaxing of outdoor licences for the hospitality sector to September 2022...

I guess there's probably enough to suggest we'll have restrictions later in the year and also it's probably sensible to expect masks etc will be mandatory for a long time to come.

Just forget about the May 17th date altogether ffs until, y'know, May 17th.

We'll find out the week before. They won't have the data until then. They've stressed this loads of times.

I wouldnt exactly fall off my stool neither. Makes no odds to me either way, but Johnson was pretty adamant that any moves of the dates would only be one way.
The scientists know what happens if indoor dining and drinking is allowed.

I think the May date will happen. The June one I'm not sure about. The capacity cap for the euros etc suggests that it won't be 'normal' like they initially suggested.
If pubs and restaurants reopen for indoor business on that date, they'll be getting shut and going back to outdoor service soon after.

Government and headless chickens come to mind.

Community Care workers and NHS colleagues are asked to do Lateral flow (LF) twice a week, you are deemed worthy for PCR test if LF cares to show a positive, just as well role some dice. Considering our most vulnerable are now cared for in their own homes, its frankly abysmal.

32 million have had at least one vaccination, many many more by May.

Deaths and hospitalisations plummeting.

The NHS no longer overwhelmed and now starting to concentrate on backlogs and catching up, rather than the virus.

Vast swathes of hospitality shut for nearly five months by May.

No public appetite for further draconian restrictions.

No chance.
Most longer.

The pubs I went to yesterday haven't been open in 5 and a 1/2 months.
