AZ has suffered a catastrophic loss of confidence around the world. The US wont touch it; European countries are severely limiting its use.

I said a while back that this looks like the type of vaccine that would be used in non-first world countries eventually. It's cheap and it's mobile. And the results are good but open to a lot of scrutiny that just cant survive the glare of publicity in the first world.

We in the UK will still see it rolled out pretty much without limit because of the political capital invested in it.
I see why it was being given away at Lidl this morning now

Possibility of different jabs designed to increase antibody and cellular response in the future.

Thanks for linking, interesting that the AZ showed much better T cell response than the Pfizer, at least after one dose

We noted a marked difference in the induction of spike-specific cellular responses where the ChAdOx1vaccine was seen to lead to a 3-fold higher median virus-specific T cell response compared to BNT162b2. This vaccine platform has been shown previously to induce strong cellular immunity and may be reflected in our observations12,13. The mechanisms that lead to improved celluar response are not clear but may potentially relate to an adjuvant effect from the adenovirus vector. It is of note that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, which is also based on an adenoviral delivery system, is now licenced for single dose administration has been shown to induce effective immune responses and strong clinical protection14.

So everyone in the UK has access to test kits that obviously must be accurate,so my kids can post a few over to Spain so that I can use one or two to travel back this Summer so I don't get ripped off here by the carpetbaggers...no.
Apparently not accurate enough,I smell a rat.
I was under the impression that the kids are getting the lateral flow tests, not PCR?

:(
Nightmare scenes of a country struggling to cope have begun to emerge as doctors speak of a new variant of the virus that appears to be spreading faster than ever before, affecting young people and even children this time around and pushing India’s healthcare system to the brink of collapse. States such as Maharashtra have imposed a weekend lockdown in an attempt to curb infections, while Delhi has introduced a night curfew, with a total lockdown still not ruled out.

Over the weekend bodies piled up outside the government hospital in Raipur, in the state of Chhattisgarh, because the hospital had “not expected so many people to die at once” from coronavirus and could not cremate them fast enough. In Surat, in the state of Gujarat, crematoriums became so overwhelmed with coronavirus victims that families began burning their dead on open ground.

It seems to be working though right? Our numbers look good in comparison to our European peers

Thank God I’ve already been there before any of this sh*t started. Wouldn’t have stood a chance otherwise.

They don’t seem to be eager to get tourism going again, unlike Iceland for example.
It's going to cause some trouble after a year of being told lockdowns are essential to keep a lid on things until vaccines arrive, and then when everyone's vaccinated we still can't do anything.

Gibraltar are now living their lives, so here’s hoping proper life resumes, eventually. There will always be vigilance now though.

I expect riots if everyone being vaccinated means we cannot do anything.
