I see you have taken one bit of my comment which was a hypothetical but not responded to the rest. But I will humour you. My mum is having her second jab on Wednesday and my dad a week after. My dad lives abroad and so has only recently had his first jab.

But that is all beside the point. I was talking about vaccine hesitancy which is a real danger. I would like you to respond to the other points I made, but maybe don't copy and paste from conspiracy theory websites and quote someone like John Ioannides who is a complete quack
Ignorant to call him a quack, tbh - he is legitimately one of the most influential scientists alive (if you want to waste time disputing this have a google of what h-index means, and then think what it would take to amass one greater than 200).

That's not to say he isn't speaking a giant amount of bolex on covid. He seems to have seen the lack of data and evidence-based decision making in the early days of the pandemic and correctly called it out, but taken an absurdly big position - everyone's wrong I'm right. Which is the diametric opposite of his whole research career, which is all about how bias and insufficient data undermine conclusions and create weak science.

Hospital figures - 42 deaths were announced today, up 5 on yesterday and down 6 on last Saturday. 34 deaths were in English hospitals, up 1 on yesterday and down 7 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 31.86

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 40 deaths were announced today, down 20 on yesterday and up 30 on last Saturday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 36.29

For the 60 day cut off, 90 deaths were announced today, down 34 on yesterday and up 67 on last Saturday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 74.29

The daily totals will be higher against last week across the weekend due to it being the Easter holiday last weekend

Dont say that. They dont like that.

Because we chose a different strategy. So not only are we two to three times better than the best in Europe when it comes to the number of first jabs, we have done twice the amount of two doses than the best in Europe. We have by far and away the greatest percentage of population with Covid protection in Europe and have stats all going the right way. Next week we open the pubs while most of Europe considers further lockdowns. All in all we’re doing ok....

......and all those dead people.

Well that aint great, obvs. But we are where we are now.

Science/bio folk reckon the vax roll out has actually prevented 10000 deaths since it started. How they calculate that, no idea mind.

And that’s the thing, we can agonise over the past and those that died as it was truly dreadful, but it’s the future and those that can be saved that is today’s issue. People continually raising the number who died as a means of trying to prove a point have lost the plot, it’s what we do going forward that counts.....

Yeah, people remembering the dead. “Lost the plot.”
