Not far and away. Italy will be past us before the end of the month. The new variant put us ahead of our European peers. Once they are through their latest wave I expect Italy, Spain, France and the U.K. will be pretty similar. The outlier is Germany. Also this is dependent on the classification criteria being consistent. If you were to take excess deaths Spain are worse than us according to ONS. So yep pretty much the whole of Europe screwed up like did
Deaths per million:

UK 1,861
Italy 1,833
Spain 1,619
France 1,476
Poland 1,453
Germany 923

Certainly Italy will be at the same catastrophic level as the UK soon...that's the Italy that gave us here a two week heads up to lockdown and avoid a first wave disaster...which Johnson said we could avoid by washing hands...which basically is why we aren't at where Germany is in terms of fatality rate.

Which is why this government has to be seen as a special case for orchestrating social murder.

@davek

Im not trying to prove inflammatory but a question if I may.

You reference Johnson and his party as murderers for there actions or lack of which has led to thousands of lives being lost, eg late lockdown.

On the basis of there decisions in relation to the vaccine programme, and the thousands of lives its saving, how do you acknowledge the very same individuals responsible for the roll out, procurement of vaccine and decision to go early on the one jab policy.

I presume that you will make them accountable for those decisions as much as the ones where you level them as murderers?

I think you already know what the answer is going to be to that one lol

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
Name one

He's then leader of this government and under his leadership we've seen the largest fatality rate in Europe per capita, which most scientists put down to locking down late on two occassions.

Will you please say that he is responsible for that?
Yes he is Dave. As PM he is ultimately responsible for everything that goes on in this country, including the covid pandemic. I've said this countless times in here. His poor leadership and poor choice of govt ministers is also partly to blame for most of it too.

I just don't think he's a murderer Dave and I also think the role of many other none politicians need to be taken to task for their part in this.

On the contrary, he's murdered 7 more by injecting them with gnats piss

I was laughing at your example. Pete's not just given him a free pass, he's given him a lifetime supply of his unquestioning devotion. I honestly wish someone would look at me the way Pete looks at Boris
I'm not saying he doesn't love the man. I've given him stick about that myself. But he hasn't given him a free pass on covid. I've seen loads of his posts criticising certain things he's done. Hard not to really.

Haystack. Needles.

But they are there. Not something you forget in a hurry

The lad does not criticise Boris, it's just not in him. No matter how many pots and pans Boris falls into, no matter what disasters he presides over, Pete is there adoringly at his side calling it expert statesmanship or a devastating uppercut that has floored the EU.

He has on covid. More than once. But I've got far better things to do than look for them.
