Brilliant news.....

I agree with your 2nd point.

"We" have spent a long time telling everybody that its not the flu, now this plantpot gives them ammo.

But thankfully it doesn't matter as much now, we have this virus on the run.
It's not flu but it has to be treated in the same way as flu going forward.

It's either that or lockdowns forever.

Track and trace - well it has to be part of the immediate solution, but it's extremely invasive and forces people to be locked in their own homes.

Well, not gonna open up that can of worms.

But that said, there is no doubt that the simple actions of SD and masks in shops must have helped.

and @peteblue as Whitty says, we've stumbled on the cure for flu - and that's lockdown.

But, it's not feasible.

As @Tubey pointed out a few months ago, it's about a trade off. It's what we 'accept'. Now, that's crap, but it's also part of life. People get ill, people die. We don't stop life for flu because it's simply not feasible - it'd ruin more lives than it would save.

So we have a jab every year which provides extra protection to those that may need it (my mum and dad are included in this so I'm not saying it as someone totally unaffected). Now luckily with COVID, we have vaccines which are even more efficient and offer even more protection than the standard flu jab, so it's a good start.

As another who has a yearly flu jab, if I get a yearly Covid/AnyothercrapChinesevirus jab, I will be more than happy....

COVID 'passports' for the trial events makes perfect sense. If it helps us get back to having events etc in the summer without needing them as such (or being able to be more flexible with it or whatever).

People seem to think that their parents want to live forever, but as I found with mine that’s not always true. I’ve said before my old fella would have took this intravenously if he could
