This is an excerpt from a US article (deals with Moderna and Pfizer).
"It is not surprising that 17 possible de novo cases would be detected among the well over 20 million people who have received at least one dose of these two vaccines in the United States as of February 2, 2021," they wrote in the American Journal of Hematology. "The incidence of an immune‐mediated thrombocytopenia post SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccination appears either less than or roughly comparable to what would be seen if the cases were coincidental following vaccination, perhaps enhanced somewhat by heightened surveillance of symptomatic patients."

I think that the bold type is important. Heightened surveillance suggests that due to mass vaccination, more of these clots are being detected but not necessarily caused by the vaccine rollout.

I trust their decisions on vaccine. The AZ-UK government relationship is a bit too pat for my liking.

You'd think this was the first controversy to hit AZs vaccine to listen to some here. Each week we see another one in the news. But it's me who's out of step.

There's similar evidence (very little!) of blod clots being related to the Pfizer vaccine, yet not a sniff. Similarly, Pfizer also having production issues, not a sniff.

Germany's vaccine roll out has been a mess, they aren't in a position to be stopping and starting it.

Are people much more likely to suffer from covid or suffer from a blood clot from the vaccines?

The answer to that is simple, so they should stop being daft - same with Norway, same with any other country that is stopping and suspending stuff, unless they have definitive evidence that there is actually a massive problem, and not just 0.01148%.

I don't give a flying one about AZ as a company. I don't really care whether I get AZ or Pfizer or Moderna or whatever.

There's risk with literally anything but this risk is so, so small, compared to a much bigger (comparatively) risk of actually catching COVID - or the continued socio-economic impact which lockdowns and restrictions are causing.

So by foregoing your second jab in favour of sitting it out until another “ better “ jab of your choice becomes available ( a policy that doesn’t exist in the U.K. ) you’re making yourself wilfully more susceptible to not only catching the virus, but also passing it on to others ???

I didn't say I was forgoing it. I said I believed that if that was what the Germans advocate then we should have that option.
