How do you define 'young', lol?

I mean I'm 26, lost a job, didn't get any support other than a pittance from universal credit. But, I'm doing okay now, don't really need £500 extra (although it'd be bloody lovely).

Whereas there's people who have lost jobs, entire businesses etc, and not got a penny - especially in events and entertainment. Let's get them sorted out first.

The 500 would partly be a financial incentive to get the vaccine- it would probably go down a lot better than vaccine passports as a means of persuading people to get vaccinated. I imagine it would also drive down vaccine hesitancy amongst certain demographics. It’s amazing what we’d all do for a bit of cash.

The people who’ve lost businesses obviously deserve massive support, but make no mistake this government could easily give us all a little financial boost. Doesn’t even have to be £500, could be half of that.

I’m obviously being slightly tongue in cheek here, but a small cash injection would either allow people to relax a little, even if it was only for a week- maybe it’s an extra weeks meals for a poor family. Or for others it’s money to put into the till of a struggling restaurant that’s just reopened it’s doors. But to go back to the focus on “young” people, the data is clear: the least at risk group has had their finances impacted the most (in general). I find it strange how people don’t seem to be comfortable acknowledging this.

So because certain sections of society are too selfish or stupid to want a vaccine they get a payout to persuade them?

Again, not for me.

If large swathes of the young generstion hadn't been obviously without consideration for others then perhaps a suggestion like that may garner support. Unfortunately for everyone they have chosen to risk people's lives for a bit of fun.

Get everyone vaccinated and then once the whole population has been offered it cut off services and access to anyone who has declined a vaccine not on valid medical grounds.
