My wife is a real worrier too so the timing of this couldn't be worse. She got a bit panicky when we got to the centre but she's fine now. I'd like to think the media have no idea how much effect they have on people, but ...

My brother inlaw ( a furloughed chef ) has been volunteering at a vaccine centre in East Yorks.

Everything has been going swimmingly until today, when a few people turned up, asked if it was the AZ vaccine and then walked out without being vaccinated, citing what they`d read in this mornings papers.

The reporting by some of the press have a lot to answer for in all of this.

Indeed...the reporting by the press have also a lot to answer for in championing Bozo's party for as long as I can remember...they also wanted a much earlier release from the current lockdown.
I cannot dispute the way in which the vaccination roll out has been organised by the NHS and all other local agencies...my own experience when I received my first jab 6 weeks ago was great.
However, I have apparently another 6 weeks to go before my 2nd jab with the Pfizer vaccine as opposed to 3 weeks as reccommended originally by the manufacturer.
I understand your view regarding what your brother in law has told you...the British so called "free press" are an absolute disgrace.

Ironic that the AZ vaccine uses a tried and tested vector (deactivated adenovirus), whereas the pfizer-Moderna one is completely unprecedented. First mRNA vaccine ever approved for humans AFAIK.

Yesterday the nurse said to me it's the AZ vaccine. Do you wish to go ahead. Like she was half expecting me to say no

Well guys, I am due my vaccine this morning and i have woken up unable to walk, my lower back went yesterday doing nothing at all but on my pc, it's excruciating, i can't get to my vaccine ffs

To be fair to the EU, and I rarely defend them, they have authorised and consistently said that the AZ is good. This is individual nations, some politically motivated, and some scared witless, who are doing this.....
