I definitely agree that indoor activities shouldn't be brought forward but theres absolutely no reason why we cannot open outdoor venues. The science shows that almost 0% covid transmission outdoors. I'm pretty sure the only outdoor covid transmission in the UK they have evidence of is 2 people sitting next to each other talking for 6 hours.

All outdoor restrictions should be stopped.
Pipe dresam.

It's an abstraction you can have big oitdoor events and prevent social distancing from crumbling.

Yep. A gentle stroll in the park with a pal is one thing, festivals and large spectator sports are another.

I am no totally wed on the idea of 10000 fans for the final games of the season neither.

For one, it seems largely pointless, and for another, it could give an advantage to the home team.

edit. Although it could be argued that as a data collection exercise followed by a natural circuit break has legs, circa like the schools.

You need to start following the science.

The simple fact is outdoor transmission of the virus is essentially zero. I'm not saying open all football stadiums today but why can't restaurants and pubs open for outdoor service?

We need to be led by the science its that simple.

“1. We do know that the risk of transmission of out of doors is substantially less than indoors by 18.7 times

Just a slight reduction then? And the article states they found 1 case of outdoor transmission out of nearly 8000?

You've definitely proven me wrong there..

You said it was zero, and we need to be led by the science.

Also, its not 8000 incidents

It is more difficult to study outdoor virus transmission but this epidemiological analysis of >300 transmission events from China during their earlier COVID-19 pandemic only found one case of outdoor transmission

You said follow the science, the likes of Chris Whitty are not calling for outdoor pubs and resturants to open just that the ealiest they should open is the current dates given but with a warning that easing lockdowns too early could bring about another lockdown late summer.

I said almost zero earlier but fair enough its slightly above zero.

Thing is if you keep things closed its more likely to result in illegal indoor gatherings which results in more spread.

Our main scientists said just yesterday we need to be careful. Read the article and see for yourself.
