My husband and I got our first shots of the moderna vaccine this evening. My arm is very sore but hopefully I won't get too many side effects.

My mom will aget her second shot on Friday. Can't help feeling emotional knowing that in a few more weeks we are going to be able to finally hug her again.

How long has it been since we could say positive stuff aout the states covid wise? 60 million jabs and 30 mill fully vaccinated with the Johnson jab potentially being a logistics gamechanger. Clever little policies like whoever is bringing the 75+ relative to the center can also get a jab, maximising roll out. Active and daily cases taking actual drops in figues and not just flattening out, hopefully with much more to come

The thing is Dave, the people who are slating it are just seeing the headlines. If they actually looked at what he'd said, they'd see clear as day that he is backing the current plan (obviously, I know you don't agree with that plan), but he's insisting that the plan cannot be moved forward at all.

It's sensible, yet all these dolts - who are actually wanting Whitty to say exactly what he's said - are up in arms about the plan that they want, being adhered to.

I definitely agree that indoor activities shouldn't be brought forward but theres absolutely no reason why we cannot open outdoor venues. The science shows that almost 0% covid transmission outdoors. I'm pretty sure the only outdoor covid transmission in the UK they have evidence of is 2 people sitting next to each other talking for 6 hours.

All outdoor restrictions should be stopped.

125,000 people killed in this country - making it a disaster zone like no other similar sized state on earth.

You give your vaccine updates though and ignore all that.

A disaster zone...wow. What you forget in all of this though is that the people who have sadly died, together with the other 500,000 in the U.K. who have died over the last year, cannot be helped. However the other 66,000,000 of us who are still here need protecting from this Chinese virus, and it’s only the vaccine that will both do this and allow us to live a life again. Most rational people understand that the U.K. is doing what needs to be done, and do not think it’s a Tory inspired death plot.....

Pretty sure the video clip was posted on here yesterday evening along with some nonsense that Witty was saying another 30000 deaths would occur following the current open up road map.

Good article. The point about vaccine nationalism and its potential to create a new virus is especially well made.

It's no use breast beating about 20 odd million vaccinated in this country if it allows new virus to be created in vaccine starved nations.

Be sure of this: the Tory Death Cult that wants earlier reopenings dont care what he meant and they and their corporate sponsors will employ an army of trolls to shout down anyone they think can be attacked in order to undermine any set plans about reopening.
