Everything he said there suggested that the vast majority of the population need to be vaccinated before being able to safely open up.

So why aren't we doing that? Pol-economy reasons.

No. He said if we open up too quickly. It was a response to a question about what the CRG want to do.

Calm down Dave.

He was basically saying that the clowns in the CRG thing are exactly that. Clowns. Cos what they want will result in what he said.

No row back.
As I said above: he knows that he/scientists advise and politicians make decisions. His view clearly is that we should have this population vaccinated if we want to avoid surges that take tens of thousands of lives.

THAT isn't going to happen.

*sigh*

That short clip was not a response to what he expects from following this slow, focused, data gathering re open. It was a response to what could happen if we DIDNT do it slowly.

I suppose three main reasons. Firstly whether we like it or not, there are economic factors behind opening up. Secondly, there are very real social factors behind letting people do things again, and there will surely be a growing clamour among those vaccinated to be able to return to a degree of normality again (and I can't blame them). Thirdly, infection numbers have come down significantly, and if we assume that as more people get vaccinated that will continue to be the case over the next month, there will be justifiable calls to open up.

Posting a positivity rating with all these tests involving schools which are why numbers have sky rocketed, will be a waste of time. They will make comparisons meaningless.

Cases are a thing of the past now. Hospitalisations, ventilators and deaths are the only measures that count.

Cases are only useful for flagging up sudden local outbreaks that will need containing.

The infection levels will rise exponentially again now that the numb nuts have sent all the kids back to school.

Vaccinations: we're told that by July the adult population could all have at least one jab and the resurces are there to make that happen. It's false econmony to rush these openings, both in social and economic terms.

Yes, but he knows that he and the rest of the advisers are shouting down and into an empty well, and that the worst case scenario will prevail: the roadmap wont be deviated from - in fact, the C*R*G death cult will press for earlier openings.

Hospital figures - 170 deaths were announced today, up 66 on yesterday and down 112 on last Tuesday. 164 deaths were in English hospitals, up 63 on yesterday and down 115 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 210.29

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 231 deaths were announced today, up 166 on yesterday and down 112 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 214.43

For the 60 day cut off, 380 deaths were announced today, up 269 on yesterday and down 183 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 337.14

Do you read anything I post?

You are correct. The roadmap wont be deviated from, other than to extend it. The CRG clowns are pressing for an earlier reopen.

Witty was explaining to the MPs on the panel what would happen if we followed the CRG route.
