Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I teach part time and Monday is my day off.
Drinking a beer now and will be skipping my 5 year old to school in the morning.
Probably whistling "Singing the Blues" while I'm at it!
The kids want to go back.
They need to go back.

For the parents who haven’t blagged it and sent them in, those parents are desperate to get them back to proper learning having tried their best may I add.

But we are not unlocking for a few months. The schools Monday, (a well travelled debate this evening), shops not till 12th April. And all the time, which they have done ever since the vaccines were started, data, data, data.
No way that the Covid *Recovery* Group will allow the momentum toward reopening to slow down.

Being 'cautious' was and is just a PR stunt.

Be great to get my kids back into school tomorrow, not going to lie.

I love my granddaughter, we are incredibly close, and I’ve sat with her through all the zoom lessons and helped her to understand and do each and every task and exercise, it‘s been a joy. But I can’t wait to be dropping her off then later on picking her up from school tomorrow......

I dont trust any of them.

The likes of Van Tam stood by as people died and kept their mouths firmly closed.

They are as much to blame as Boris the Butcher and his crew.

Do you really think that Boris or VT set out to kill people ? Or maybe, when the political glasses are taken off, do you think that we have all been through a period of unknowing, learning, and then taking control. We, and I mean the whole country and everyone on here, didn’t have a clue what was really happening at the beginning. Boris tried to balance the virus and the economy with little or no solid advice. We’ve certainly all learnt a lot, but if anyone would like to put their hand up and say they knew how it would run its course then I can’t wait to hear from them........

I think The Butcher cost lives when he told everybody to shake hands.

I think he cost lives when he locked down too late and kept our borders open.

So yes, I think he knew that the decisions he made would cost lives and he willingly accepted them.

Lets not forget his original plan was to let the virus run through the country killing who it liked.

I totally agree that huge mistakes were made. But no one suggested anything different at the time. Even the ‘herd immunity’ stuff came from the scientists, certainly no politician dreamt that one up. Boris will no doubt take his blame when this is all reviewed, but in all honesty, and no politics, I’d rather be in the U.K. than anywhere else in Europe at this moment.....

Herd immunity didnt come from the scientists, it was from a Think Tank of morons.

I’ve also seen my eldest lose interest and utterly blow his degree in the last 12 months.
Nothing I could do about it either.

So police give out a few fines to the thousands of Rangers fans celebrating what is in reality is a fairly worthless trophy given the whole scheme of things and yet an organiser of a fairly small health service pay rise protest gets a 10k fine - fu**ed up country we live in

Jesus Christ, they are spacing things out so that if it does indeed go to an unmanageable level, they can delay/postpone stages.

So a full school open from tomorrow, check back in three weeks when Easter comes round, if infections/deaths haven’t risen significantly then there’ll be another two weeks of data before retail reopens fully.

They then continue so forth, 3 weeks after retail, check data, high rise and reclose shops, stay steady keep an eye on for the next 2 weeks before the next stage. By May the vaccine figures will have increased as those who had their first in December/January will have had seconds and they will be mid run of second shots for the Feb and March 1st timers as well as finishing the first shots for those that haven’t still had it

Tell him to set up his own business, doing whatever he really wants, it’s the best time of his life to actually have a go.....
