No, not yet. Its still a month till shops can open.

He's either being purposefully ignorant or he's just lost his head, now.

Three weeks ago, an additional 1.7m people were told to shield.

All of this guidance applies until at least the 31st of March.

And I can't imagine that that's going to change anytime soon.

Dave, the advice to people shielding is to continue shielding even if they've had the first jab. The advice to anyone who's had one jab - or even both jabs - is to continue following the rules and restrictions are still in place.

I'm sure you were one of the posters making a big deal out of this a few weeks ago?

You've also insisted that there's been too many kids going to school in the last few months. Maybe you're right, but by that logic, schools opening tomorrow shouldn't be much of a big deal then?

Nothing else is changing for 3 weeks - at least.
But we've heard this government and the media tell all those people that they are vaccinated 90% + or whatever after one dose...and we can see evidence of over-80s acting on that and inviting people in and meeting up.

The messaging is appallingly bad.

Given that - and as @roydo points out how near we are to Easter - why press the unlock button for thousands of schools?

It's a catastrophe in the making, after all of us have been through.

You cant support that timing.

The pre Easter move is designed to capture data apparently.

That said, still not sure what difference 2 weeks makes.

He’ll still be sat in his bunker, screaming for schools ( junior incubators) pubs ( swill incubators) restaurants ( muck sellers ) and gyms ( steroid fuelled incubators ) to be SHUT DOWN in ten years time.

Psychosis Republic.
I give Dave his props, he, along with me was calling for lockdowns well before The Tory Death Cult even considered them, if we did that, we could have saved thousands.

But to keep wanting lockdowns, given the current level of vaccines and everything pointing towards declines across the board is just madness.

I suspect he really would lockdown forever.

He’s starting to come across like King Canute now.

Sat there on his throne, on the tide line, screaming at the waves to GET BACK.

But, they are?

They're going to use the Easter break as a natural circuitbreaker.

Personally, yes, I feel they could perhaps have left it a bit longer, but then again it's not like there is anything else opening at the same time. It is just schools, so whatever happens, we know that it's down to schools (or, conversely, if the spike is totally manageable, which clearly is the anticipation) then that'll be a good sign.

Exactly.

Perspective....

Perspective of what ?

If the vaccine is stopping the elderly and vulnerable from dying and ending up in hosy, the rest of us who catch it can cope with it. It’ll be just ike catching any other thing that makes us feel rotten, but doesn’t kill us.

You’ve moved the goal posts ( yet again ) to your new mantra, that the whole of the country should be vaccinated before opening up, when not one single country in the world has done this or is advocating doing this.

It’s neither realistic or sustainable and you know this.

Once this is conquered, you’ll be screaming for the world to be SHUT DOWN over the flu next.
