Just say that you think the virus is media propaganda, and then a few months later you can just gloss over it and start calling people murderers.

Also, if the vaccine appears to be working and things are inching back towards normal again, present every single post regarding the vaccine, as peer reviewed scientific fact, despite the fact that your only scientific qualification is an O`level in Biology.

I'm afraid I dont think we're out of this by any means. IMO any vaccine impact will be blunted by nowhere near universal take up of it, and the fact that we'll see production and distribution problems with the vaccines. Also, the only real way of supressing the virus is by hunting it down - and I have zero faith this country will have what it takes to either pursue such a hunt or the discipline for what it involves.

Better next year, but a long way off normality. There's a naive belief in this vaccine by some, and a wilful ignorance by others who just want the excuse to get back to the old normal and will use the vaccines as an excuse to cut loose.

Oh we are deffo not out of it. Not by a long chalk. JVT pretty much said that earlier.

I think you under play the chance the vaxes give us though. But if we keep doing what we have all done for months, next Feb could be ok.

So, have I got this right: you're saying the vaccines will stop the high peaks and troughs we've seen so far, but that behavioural change and track and trace will be vital to stop any variants landing us with sudden surges?
I'm not a virologist but it seems that the plan for the vaccines is to achieve herd immunity, as we have with loads of other illnesses.

That means that the health systems aren't overwhelmed as we saw come close to happening at the start of the pandemic or over this winter.

If the end goal was to be able to avoid anybody getting sick of anything, never mind an illness with a >1% mortality rate (when you take into account how many people will have had this and being asymptomatic), then we'd never leave the house, ever.

So far my missus has booked :

Cartmel races weekend with the girls.
A long weekend in Benidorm with the girls.
A weekend walking up Snowdon with her mate.
And an all dayer at the cricket - I`m in included in this one .

She hasn`t finished yet either lol

People are going to have Freshers Flu all of July.
