How are people predicting deaths based on the mortality rate when we don't know what % of that ~53m are vulnerable?

Can't just * the perceived mortality rate by the ~53m as most of those people won't fall into the vulnerable demographic.

Ah that makes more sense, was wondering if that info was available. So could be between 100-400k deaths.

Without being virologists and knowing how infectivity works, I think the rough estimate we laymen can use is the 25 million people who are considered at-risk of the flu and get the free NHS vaccine every year.

I would say yes, but plans need to be tested and therefore mistakes will be made along the way....
