Yeah I mean I'll manage, I'll just get the clippers out lol

I just think it'd be the worst thing now to send schools back. March 8th to the Easter break would be about 3 weeks. What's the point?
Agree but Scotland have made that decision so I can see us doing the same.

Possibly a good solution would be to just send exam years and the youngest kids back and you could then split the classes because there will be more rooms and teachers available.

Surely that's the one positive in terms of the government learning lessons though? Just stop promising stuff.

But yeah, they said a few weeks ago that the 'roadmap' would be laid out week of Feb 22nd

Well I didn’t ask them to promise me anything I just hadn’t heard of any news. I don’t read the news anymore but none of my friends seemed to have heard either.

I know you didn't. I just mean I think it's good that there's been limited rumours or false promises recently from them. I just hope they don't cock it all up by opening certain things like schools back up too early for the sake of 3 weeks. Another month of lockdown will be crap but it could mean we get the rest of the year without the same level of restrictions.

Wow, now that's real determination about getting vaccinated. If only our governments would have such tenacity then we would be better off with this pandemic.

No. Not for over 65s.
I'll bet back to you on that, in May and July probably.
In the first pre Easter Australian roll out which starts tomorrow, iirc, Key workers, care home residents will be getting Pfizer X 2
The rest of the common herd and none risk over 65s will get the Oxford X 2 - as and when.

Was surprised how the vaccine appointment system works.

Previously with my grandparents they had been contacted and told when to go.

My dad got his letter, went online and booked the time and location (as much as was available) on the date he was given, and same again for his second jab on May 14th.

Yeah I think a staggered approach could work but, for the sake of 3 weeks, I just would like to think they could hold off until easter, nicer weather (in theory), more people vaccinated etc etc

They appear to vary it. My wife and I were contacted by the GP and given a date. The letters arrived a couple of days after. I can only assume that the vaccination centre were getting ahead of the game so the GP’s got on the phone......

Has Johnson learned his lesson from the very recent past and is ignoring the short term push from Sunaks band of think tank weapons? At least the right language appears to be being used regards not opening up too soon. Let the lockdown vaccine impact have maximum effect and that will at least give test and trace a chance. You would also hope he has learned to involve the state and not just chuck money at the private sector after success of the vaccine role out.

I am going to use a bit of that old educated guesswork thing, and say “No, he hasn’t”.
