Facts can change for some, but not others now?

Cos I am pretty sure some on here were calling it a lie/con, until said facts changed.

He;s the PM of this country with access to all the intelligence gathering agencies there are and all the scientific experts...and I'm someone on a football forum and I changed my mind quicker than he did.

Are you really defending that murdering scumbag given everything he was being told and he continued to choose to ignore it?

You're another one who doesn't awant to defend Johnson, I suppose.

I didn't take it seriously, I think maybe in part to being numb from media hyperbole for years, but the leader of a country with access to expert advice and analysis who is supposed to be a geo-political expert really should be held to a higher critique than a whopper like me on the internet, and johnsons casual starting block position for this crisis would be a sacking offense in most trades

Of course.

I just get a tad irritated with self appointed experts spreading nonsense about this. With zero medical or scientific background.

So now the scientific experts are not stooges then?

You changed your mind? You were firmly telling all and sundry it was bollox. Based on what? What did your intelligent analysis of information do to arrive at that conclusion?

The scientific community have proven subsequent to the beginning of this crisis that they will be more than pliable to political interference. That's one of the lessons of this crisis. At the outset though, that Prime Minister you apparently support was avoiding attendance at COBRA meetings, and then he chose to believe that herd immunity was an option when the overwhelming scientific advise was against such lunacy.

Just condemn him. There's 114,000 dead in this crisis so far, and tens of thousands of those people were killed as a result of his failing to lockdown at the end of February 2020 and then by his fixation with elevating the economy over health last summer and autumn.

You dont have to be an "expert" to appreciate that something has gone terribly wrong in this country to the extent it hasn't in any advanced nation.

Maybe we should just give that ball bag Johnson the benefit of the doubt though?

My stance on this, on this forum, is to prevent as best we can from hosting ridiculous, non scientific "advice" as to what we should or shouldnt do.

I have zero political skin in this game, quite frankly, I couldnt care less who was in charge. The science wouldnt change.

But I do have issues with posters calling it bollox, then advising what vaccine to take. But you know that.

People are quick to throw all sorts of blame at China, but good old Boris, he did his best, bless him.

LOL

This is why we are under a tory rule that has slaughter thousands and peoples only concern is getting a hair cut.

I often wondered how the German people could stand by while their army slaughtered millions, now I know just how its possible.

When have I called it bollox? My change of mind on the severity of this maybe came a bit earlier than yoiurs by the way. You were calling the French ban on gatherings over 5,000 peoiple in March "an over-reaction" IIRC.

As for advising others to take a vaccine: I've stated all the vaccines will offer some positive effect, but that there are undeniable questions for AZ to answer. In that I'm not exactly alone, am I? Maybe I;m the only one in the world that's questioned the AZ vaccine?

Here's the thing though: even now he and his party would be voted back into office. Figure that one out. A catastrophe accelerated by them and they'd be given the benefit of the doubt. There's loads of people who like Johnson on the sly.

I CBA vaulting you mate.

And yeah, I most certainly queried the early response to this. I couldnt work out why 5000 people was ok, but 5001 was bad news. IIRC there were similar situations with numbers allowed in shops. It was all very strange. For all of us.

But that is a far cry from calling it rubbish, and advising folk to not take a vaccine.

No I didn't. I stated it was a scare story based on little more than the same evidence we'd seen with SARS and Avian Flu. When the facts changed then I changed...quickly.

I love the way you constantly dont want to defend Johnson...but then do so at every available point.

So you admit to making a nonsense statement?

I don't see how me saying that you did that equates to relieving the bloke of responsibility.

I just don't think he lands in the same ball park as Hitler, like you do.

You and Dave comparing this to the holocaust really is pretty disgusting
