Grim. I'm sure having some protection will have really helped your wife. It's why it's so important that people have it and get it as quickly as possible. Some protection is better than nothing - like you say it could well have been that that helped her (or it's just this thing is totally random with who it gets badly!).
Yes mate, its vitally important because even 50% protection is better than none. My mums a cleaner in a school so I'm desperate for her to be offered it. My sister who works in the care home but is moving to a new job is due to get it on th 5th and my mate who works with covid patients is due to get it this week. In fact my mother in law is getting hers today. Just these few alone is a massive weight lifted because if they're safe, its a step closer to us all being safe.
As soon as I get a chance mate I'm gonna let them inject me as many times as they need to, pump me full of it and let me get back to some kind of normality. Life might not ever be the same or it certainly might take 12/24 months as we have to learn a slightly different way but I'm 100% certain we'll get back to days of full on pile ons in the street end, going to gigs with mates, meals out where we can hug a friend we haven't seen in a while and bbq's in the garden with friends and family and having a proper laugh.
