We went to Prescot Cables to watch Winsford beat AFC Liverpool on the last game of the season to win the cup or the league. Not bitter... just better.

He watches some completely baffling teams (Something Miners B Team versus no mark Town Under 15s) for something to do.

As long as he enjoys it....

Pfizer has already supplied millions of doses to the UK.
They were supposed to be supplying 10 million before Christmas which I doubt they got as according to the government would not be held in storage and will be in people's arms as soon as possible.
Today was the first day that over 300,000 vaccines have been given and a total of 3.2 million..
There is no way they will reach 15 million by the middle of February they will be lucky if they get to 10 million. There is definitely a supply problem so for once why don't they just tell us the truth instead of false promises and then massaging the figures to match there agenda.

There actually isn’t a supply problem, the issue is infrastructure. The number of vaccines daily is continuing to ramp up.

Apparently Pfizer have now said that production is being cut between now and end February in order to put additional Production in place. They have told the EU that their supply will be reduced during this period. No doubt we too will take some form of hit, but have the Oxford vaccine ramping up, which the EU haven’t authorised. If we continue to do 300,000 a day then we should hit the numbers, or be pretty close, by mid Feb. They sounded pretty confident tonight but I just pray that vaccine production keeps up with the plan.......

There’s a lot of things to slate the government about, but there are only three nations in the world with a higher vaccination rate per capita right now.

For some context, my partner has been administering vaccinations for the past three days. In 12 hour shifts they’re doing about 35 doses. So you’d need about 11,000 people administering 12 hours per day to hit the 300,000 doses mark. It really is a mammoth undertaking.

It's the only way.

This isn't a defence of the government here, but it won't be helped by the constant hysteria, constant stories of new variants being able to overcome the vaccine etc. All it does is add fear. That's as damaging to getting it out there as bloody anti-vax freaks.

I'm not talking about propaganda. If there's issues we obviously need to know. But there just has to be perspective.

Having 3.2m done by Jan 15th is not bad at all. Yes, it needs to increase quickly but so far it is doing.

30 days' time - if we hit 300,000 a day (so keep today's pace) - that'd be 12m (give or take) vaccinated/given their first dose. Isn't the target 13.3m people?

Say they have 1.5m to make up to hit that figure though Johnson did fudge it by basically saying the end of Feb half-term - gives them a week to play with. I guess it may slow down at weekends and tick up in the week but if we can maintain 300k per-day it's not bad going.

It's doable. But obviously, that's just the start.

I won't be cryarsing if 13.3m people haven't been vaccinated by Feb 14th. It's not like we'll be out of lockdown then anyway. There'll be no change until early March at least but, if we can get those vulnerable groups done, then there should be no need for lockdowns. Not a full return to normal straight away, obviously, but a tiered appraoch - done right - should then suffice as the vaccinations ramp up across the general population.

That would have to be done right, though. Nothing daft like London into Tier 2.

Thank you to her, and all of them that are doing it.
