no worries. From what I gather from the article I saw a few days back (I'll try find it) it was AZ who did all the testing so surely it'll be those scientists gathering the evidence? I'll check back though.

It is a brave decision, I agree, but at least with AZ there is evidence to back it up.

But like I say it should only be done where there is evidence. Pfizer and Moderna didn't test longer spacing it seems, so those vaccines should be administered based on reccomendations, imo.

Yeah I’d be curious on the AZ advice mate. I’d imagine Pfizer and Morderna did do some testing, maybe not to an extent of 12 weeks, but they are pretty specific in their advice around dosing and timeframe based on the info I got today and I had a good long chat to the vaccination team. One of the curious things today was size of the doses and the difference between first and second doses, the first dose is of a smaller quantity, to the second, which is a bigger dose.

I might have a little look in to AZ.

Just read a study in the BMJ, the AZ trial showed a 53% efficacy if the second dose was given with in 6 weeks and 65% over. A word of caution though the trials and sample were very small, 1407 participants in one study and 384 out of 2377. In other words the evidence in mined from a subset of a subset. The UK could be right of course, but I think it’s brave.

Cant find any direct advice by AZ bar the overall trial results in the Lancet and recommendation of min 4 to max 12 weeks.

Only 2 people replied that they knew some one and both was friend of friend, not taking anything away from that either. That was a genuine questions.
.
Some may not care to share their loss in general or with you in particular. I can understand that.

I have lost my grandmother, an aunt, and an uncle. I have also had several other people I personally know die from COVID. I would appreciate you having more consideration than to be dismissive of the existence of the disease that lead to their deaths along with hundreds of thousands of others.
To make light of the cause of their death, makes light of their death and my loss.

I seen you moaning about people who eat in restaurants not long ago anyway you sad mushroom. Inabit.

Putting my mod hat back on...
You are intitled to express your opinion, but there is no need to be unpleasant about it.

Or as the boss says, don’t be a tit

Because I know people are dying on the drones from other things such as sepsis, pneumonia, flue, suicide, cancer and they are not shutting down the country/work over it.

If it was a leathal as they make out on the news we would all know some one, I don’t know anyone or know anyone who knows anyone. I’m sorry but it Dosent add up.
Of course you dont, have you any idea how many people live in this country? Every person you have ever met in your whole life is minuscule compared to the amount of people that live here.
Too put it into perspective, if you are old enough to have been to a game in the old Wembley, that gate is the death toll, just think of how many people in the country were not outside at the time.
Of course you dont know anyone, in real terms you barely know anybody.

The problem with us too many half baked lockdowns ,they obviously don't work you only get results fully locking down, dithering has cost lives I'm afraid ,until this lockdown kicks in I think more frightening figures of lives lost will come in.so sad.
This is true this, every lockdown so far has been too weak, we need a strong one with rules properly enforced, I think it's coming.
The supermarket enforcing mask wearing can be a game changer IMO, the police really need to get strong on this, the public will back them too as apart from a few loons were sick of this situation.

A bit of a breakthrough in getting the knob head ‘can’t be arsed wearing a mask and just saying I’m exempt’ people to wear a mask today at work.

Offer them a free one, followed by the usual ‘I’m exempt’.
Fine, can you wear one of our Lanyards then please whilst you are shopping.

Most decided to take one of the masks.
Should make them put money in a charity box if they need to take a mask. FFS everyone knows if you're heading out to the supermarket you need a mask.

No mate, haven;t you heard? It's the UK / South Africa / Brazil / Barnsley variant.

If only a virus hadn't inconveniently mutated (because none of them ever do, of course) Johnson's plan to leave the country wide open again for months before locking down would have worked
Delayed testing of incoming international air passengers, again. Give them more time to spread it.
