Seeing a lot of rumours that the government might be bringing masks in for all times outdoors. Personally I don't really agree with that, I live in a fairly quiet area and I regularly go out running. If I see anyone I cross the road or run in the road. Running is impossible with a mask.

I'm probably being selfish but I can't see this making a difference to the numbers and its just going to put even more people off doing any exercise.

There are special masks for exercise that have been around ages but not sure how good they are in a COVID sense.

I have seen them before but I don't know whether they'd count. They also make running more difficult which isn't ideal as those masks are quite restrictive.

The frustrating thing is the people who don't bother with the rules just do whatever they want whereas these additional heavy rules that are supposedly being discussed will affect everyone.

Can't they try to get the idiots to wear masks in supermarkets first before all of these additional measures? Maybe shut all the non essential retail too?

Well maybe but there are options out there for you.

It is, isnt it?
Everything is open for click and collect. City centres and retail parks are quite busy. I personally think coffee shops should be shut and I'd argue takeways should be closed before further restrictions are put in place for the general public.

Who knows what the answer is. Its looking more and more like further restrictions will be required but what can we do?

I don't see how they can continue to say its safe to go to work whilst at the same time the are looking at putting one hour maximums on exercise etc.

You're not being selfish, and wearing a mask while you're out running is dangerous. You shouldn't be having to go out and buy some special exercise mask. In your case you're doing nothing wrong. Maybe an option will be to take one with you, or wear a snood or something? If you take one with you then if you ever come across a busy area you could pop that on and wait for people to pass by? Annoying like, but maybe a compromise.

If you wear a snood that makes it easy to pull up and down.

Vaccination minister on GMB has just stated that 33% of over 80s have had their first dose. Good that progress is being made but thats still 66% of the first priority group left to do.

I play football with a snood over my mouth and it’s fine.

Thats a good shout in fairness, I might try that. Its pathetic that I am even mentioning that minor point when people are dying but I just find it frustrating that further rules are coming in when loads of people don't even follow the basic rules.

Its difficult to evaluate progress as in order for any normality to resume there are two or three more much larger groups that need vaccinating. At least they are making progress but its hard to work out where we will be in April/May.
Yes and remains to be seen when the 2nd doses will be administered and what the outcome of that will be. But still, only 2 countries worldwide have been quicker and vaccinated more at this point in time

Well, we don't know for sure whether they're coming in. I don't think people exercising outdoors like you are in terms of going for a run in a quiet place is doing anything to contribute to the spread. It shouldn't be treated as such.

Different if there's 5 or 6 people meeting up but if you're on your own then it's absolutely fine and doing f all to contribute to people ending up in hospital. Just about being sensible.
