Listening to talk radio on Thursday, there was a guy who was saying that 1/4 of new cases come from care homes and also 1/4 of new cases are people catching it in hospitals.

Why on earth are we not doing something about this? It would half new infections if correct. But then again hospitals show a lack of capability in stopping viruses or infections as proven by MRSA..

I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but hospitals and care homes are at the top of the priority list for vaccination. You can only hope the government get their act together for once and actually start to achieve the 2 million vaccinations a week they say they will.

There’s your problem.

This goes a long way to explain why we are where we are. The promoting of rent-a-gobs with an opinion they come up with, for money, to a deadline, as if they had any value more than a bloke in the pub telling you what he thinks.

These are the voices that get amplified in the ‘mainstream’ media due to their social media presence, and when they’re proven wrong, they simply move on to the next ‘hot button’ issue, rinse and repeat.

For all the grief that experts and scientists have got over the last year, and no doubt they’ve got stuff wrong, it’s better to be wrong for the right reason (I.e. followed a scientific method, then new data becomes available) than be wrong for the wrong reason. But we, as a society, want to hear the strong opinion from the woefully uninformed.
