Unfortunately, C, while I hate them, I look across Europe and genuinely despair. Think they're all hopeless and even if one or two countries overcome it it'll only take a bit of travel to kick it all off again.

Just has to be an attitude change once the people who need it have the vaccine. Get out of lockdown as being the go-to responses.
You confident that the vaccination programme will be rolled out quickly? I'm not, and I speak as someone in the "clinically most vulnerable" group.
Hope I'm wrong.

Hospital figures - 407 deaths were announced today, down 61 on yesterday and up 74 on last Monday. 376 deaths were in English hospitals, down 10 on yesterday and up 56 on last week. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 488

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 407 deaths were announced today, down 47 on yesterday and up 50 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 611.14

For the 60 day cut off, 427 deaths were announced today, down 41 on yesterday and up 50 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 683.86

Well we've done over 1 mil so far. The plan to put space between the first jab and the boosters has been done to try and increase the number of people who can get vaccinated quickly. While contentious, it seems to be a move that other governments are adopting too (Germany today I believe). Whether that makes it right or not, I don't know...

We can but wait and see. We're in lockdown and it's going to be properly crap. It's the most depressing time of year, people are going to be really, really down about this, and in all fairness they have every right to be. Because there's more to worry about in life than covid.

However, we're now in it so all we can do is hope they can get the vaccines rolled out.

In any business this lot would have been launched into eternal humiliation for their track record of gross incompetence. In truth the business would have gone bust.

The vaccine roll-out is a lamentable example. It’s the only thing that stops the virus, so should have been top priority, from the outset.

In May the Government announced that 30 million doses of the AZ vaccine would be manufactured and ready by November. It would only require approval.

From the minute that announcement was made there should have been a logistics project team planning every move required to get those doses into people’s arms.

The man at the top would expect a regular update reporting progress against the programme and challenging any risks.

Every minute detail should have been documented, who, where, when, how, and the procedure then tested for any weakness.

Not now ringing Tesco, to see if they have any spare refrigerated delivery vans they are not using and looking for volunteers to give the jabs. Then finding out that their own red-tape prevents those volunteers being recruited.

It’s bad enough that there isn’t already a long established Procedure for Pandemic - Public Vaccination, that is dusted off, tested annually and ready to rock and roll with everyone knowing their job.

This lot clearly haven’t just started being completely incompetent and uncaring !

They’ve just got everything so so wrong.

Tier systems, Traffic Light Systems, the free movement of air passengers, a disgraceful track and trace system - which is so effective, that if you delete it and reinstall you don’t have to isolate, keeping schools in, avoiding the obviousness of Children not being at risk if they do get it, but being mass spreaders.

They’re just a disgrace, my concern is, do I think anything else will improve under Starmer?

We’ve been given so much high ceiling, being met with underwhelming failure. Will we be in a position in 6 weeks to reopen? Will we have 5-10 million vaccinated as planned?
Just can’t fathom how in the space of 5 years we’ve literally managed to embarrass ourselves On a worldwide scale with allowing a vote for Brexit, the subsequent handling and the ineptitude at handling COVID-19.

Bang on the money.

100%

And, it's even more frustrating as the vaccine has actually been delivered - as in they are ready for it.

Utter jokers.

Just have to hope that the relatively - I stress relatively - quick uptake on the vaccines over the last month (given the dosage available) is showing that they've either learned or, more likely, they've put a competent person in charge. That's probably wishful thinking, though.

I still don't see what two people going to play golf does to save little old Doris from dying, like, on another note. And I don't even like golf.

I can tell you from first hand experience that the NHS is desperate to get as many "at risk" people vaccinated as humanly possible. Whether or not the government is capable of actually facilitating that desire is another thing, but I do hold hope that the NHS has some independence when it comes to this.
