This is the big worry for me - the level of active media support for the government is way beyond what is acceptable; in fact in cases like him, Pearson, Cole and others it’s probably crossed the line into complicity in what’s gone on.

This is going to guarantee them backing this lot for decades, for fear of what will come out if they ever lose power.

Kim Jong-un must look at our daily newspapers and wonder why he gets so much grief for press control.

Amazing really that the full lockdown came in under the banner of ‘we must avoid a second wave’. Remember that?

We’re now on the upward curve of the third wave, and seemingly nothing has been learnt. Terrible communication. Inability to make tough choices. Delaying decisions until the effective time has passed, and we’ve got Tory politicians talking about ‘tolerable’ levels of death. What a useless, incompetent shower of bellends.
But but but... Bozo is funny...absolute shame on those who continue to believe that this shower of incompetents actually know what they're doing. It's not acceptable but they are getting away with it.
Scandalous.

Marr was discussing how at nearly seven-thousand new cases a day there were people involved in SAGE calling for circuit breaks.

We're now a mere 800% (ish) above the seven-thousand mark with the probability it will continue to increase, and they're still suggesting we wait - e.g. inaction.

Johnson showed his hand today that he knows more severe restrictions are coming, and we all know that they’ll come in after the point of usefulness.

The Tories and Captain Calamity in particular are too cowardly to instill a full lockdown because of one thing, money. A competent government would, right now, not mess about with silly tier systems and instead close everything down (airports, train stations, coach stations included) bar supermarkets for a 2-3 month period until the vaccines were on a regular roll out

It’s abundantly clear that the spread is caused by numpties (would like to use a much stronger word to describe them) not following the restrictions.
Fatigue is a factor, the effects doubled by the 5 day Christmas that was revised down to 1 day. I know anecdotally many people just went ahead and had their Christmas as planned according to 5 days, that includes retired GP, Church minister and Accountant.

This is the big worry for me - the level of active media support for the government is way beyond what is acceptable; in fact in cases like him, Pearson, Cole and others it’s probably crossed the line into complicity in what’s gone on.

In the Times Johnson & Boris has lost entire 80 seat majority according to some polling.

It's an admsission that the Tory scum are going for a full blown policy of survival of the fittest and see millions dead as a price worth paying to keep on stuuffing money in their own and their mate's pockets.

We have a death cult in charge of the Tory Party and therefore the government.

I think I'd rather have a military coup than be governed by this lot.
It's very early on a Sunday for you to be frothing at the mouth Dave. Pace yourself.

Blair really is a horrible scumbag; he seems to be getting snippets of what’s happening and then putting them out there as if it’s his own idea to do them (see also the delays to the second dose vaccine idiocy):

“Tony Blair calls for introduction of 'vaccination stations'

Tony Blair has called for the introduction of “vaccination stations” modelled on polling stations as part of a massive effort to accelerate the rollout of the jab, along with cutting limits on pharmacy distribution and using unoccupied office space as places to administer the vaccine.

Among other measures he proposes, the former prime minister also says that a minimum of 30,000 additional vaccinators are needed and suggests a single platform should be adopted for a “Covid pass” that would allow any individual to quickly show their status on testing and whether they have been vaccinated.

“Though it is true that the NHS is doing a herculean effort in vaccinating as many as they have, it is simply not sufficient,” he said.

“We have to treble at least the number of vaccinations by end of January when enough supplies of the vaccine should be available to allow us to do that.”

The general population have been allowed to ignore the restrictions by that bunch of muppets!

No.

We can point the finger of blame at those making the guidelines etc. as much as we want but we also need to look at our neighbours, the people down the pubs, the people at protests or secret raves or whatever and point the finger at them too.

We have never once needed the governments rules to tell us how to behave correctly during a pandemic.

Working in education myself, I’d be very surprised if schools are shut for a two week period. I work in alternative provision and we deal with kids who don’t go to mainstream education and get sent to us. Their age range from year 9’s to year 11’s, and a Monday we have post 16’s that could range from 16 to 24 year olds. The school learners are still roaming the streets of a night time and mixing with large groups once out of school hours. The unions and government will find away around it and make sure kids go back ASAP.
