Mightn't be as good protecting you from getting the virus but 100 percent stopped hospitalisation in trials, that will do for me

It’s got a very similar efficacy to a dose of the flu vaccine, yet no one’s moaning about that.

If it stops hospitals filling up, people dying and some return to normality that’ll do for me.

It's as simple as this: the Oxford vaccine isn't good enough. Not at all.

You can be sure that no government minister or MP or wealthy person in this country will be getting anything other than a vaccine that hands 95% coverage.
How do you know they haven't given it out to the public yet, once rolled out let's see the figures before moaning about it.

It's at least gonna reduce the spread, oh these scientists in oxford must know nothing ,your right they're wrong. They wouldn't give it out if they didn't think it was gonna work
Give it to the less vulnerable - if that's all that the Oxford team can come up with. Save the Pfizer vaccine for the vulnerable who need greater immunity.

Folk telling people what vax to take or not take on the internet are dangerous idiots. On a par with anti vaxers.
Why is that? Would you rather someone vulnerable take a vaccine that hands them almost total immunity or less than 2/3rds?

The Oxford trials literally had a bias toward younger groups.

The people overwhelmingly in the hospitalised category are older groups.

I have no wish to put people off getting this Oxford jab if they want it and it helps, but it wont give coverage to the most vulnerable. They need the Pfizer vaccine.
Fair enough mate, wasn't aware of that. I'm 34 though so hopefully Oxford will do for me

It'll offer some immunity, but not as much as north Americans or people in the EU will get - they will be safer taking their Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

It'll be interesting to see how many advanced nations take up the Oxford vaccine. I think that it's roll out will be largely confined to the developing world and the UK...which says it all really.

Think your being a little too pessimistic too Dave. There are still plenty of people under 50 going to hospital. If this stops that then great and will contribute to the end of this horrific time. We can then give the higher efficiency ones to more vulnerable etc, between both it should be enough to get out lives back which is obviously the end game here
