I think if anything, I've found that there are a lot more Gullible and easily led people in 2020. So i'm hoping we're at least correct in seeing an overwhelming positivity.

This is one huge step towards normality. 67m people like within UK, 100m Vaccines, is plenty to help those who need it most, and hopefully get us back to sanity.
Johnson got 80 seat majority are to that people actually listening to the likes of Farage and Hannan, the writing was on the wall.

Unfortunately they're still communicating this like a bunch of drunks.

No concrete efficacy number (62% still being reported by the Guardian), no concrete numbers in terms of dosages available to go, no clarification on study outcomes...

Worrying.
Agreed that it seems a bit fluffy, but ,why do The Guardian (and others) feel the need to report it though?

It’s not like they provide this critical balance in every topic that they cover, it’s more fuel for the mad anti-vaxxers et al. It works and it’s a way out of this mess. It’s like at the start of all this the BBC ran pieces on why masks wouldn’t stop the virus at a time when people were literally being begged to wear them.

The media need to be held to account for their part in this fiasco.

Using the Oxford vaccine is going to leave the door open.

Typical of this shambolic, half measure Government.
It's as simple as this: the Oxford vaccine isn't good enough. Not at all.

You can be sure that no government minister or MP or wealthy person in this country will be getting anything other than a vaccine that hands 95% coverage.

Because they need to sell papers/get website hits.

Mightn't be as good protecting you from getting the virus but 100 percent stopped hospitalisation in trials, that will do for me

The key fact is the Oxford vaccine stopped 100% of the vaccinated from getting hospitalised. Zero hospitalisations doesn't sound too bad..

it doesn’t - but was that with the doses 12 weeks apart (how they want to use it) or with how it was tested (2 or 4 weeks apart)?

It is worrying

Looks like 62% with 2 full doses
90% with half dose/ full dose
Unpublished data shows it can be over 90% the longer apart the 2 injections are

But it looks like we are going the 2 full dose route as there is not enough data on the half dose/ full dose approach.

Would be nice to have a clear picture of what is going on, but that's politics for you.

The Oxford trials literally had a bias toward younger groups.

The people overwhelmingly in the hospitalised category are older groups.

I have no wish to put people off getting this Oxford jab if they want it and it helps, but it wont give coverage to the most vulnerable. They need the Pfizer vaccine.

Well they need to go back to the drawing board and this 'kin government need to honour their promise that they have access to 40 million Pfizer doses.

If you're vulnerable, dont accept the Oxford vaccine.

You have to ask yourself why the Oxford vaccine makers are basically coming forward with the same info they did 2 months ago with the same efficacy for their vaccine when they said at the time they need to do more.

It's unacceptable.
