They aren’t wrong though - this could be far, far worse. Imagine 40% of the country dying, which has happened.
In a way this is correct. UK deaths are up by roughly around 7% this year. If something like Ebola was more contagious the number of deaths would be much much more.
And from what I see it's that age group that are the ones following the rules the least. I regularly see gangs kids hanging about. No distancing. No masks. Parents need to be held responsible. While I genuinely do feel sorry for the young adults of today as it is restricting a key developmental stage in their lives, my sympathy only goes so far.
My eldest is moaning about her upcoming birthday and why we won't allow her to have friends around. My wife spoke to her, quite softly, and discussed it all.
"But my friends still are doing this... They're doing that..." My wife tried to explain again, but still it was like it's going in one ear and out the other.
I lost my temper with her in the end and spoke to her bluntly, like an adult, which she always claims how she should be treated. Seems to have done the trick...
If the youth want to have their freedoms, they need to understand their responsibilities and potentially how their generation will be judged.
When? They aren’t wrong though - this could be far, far worse. Imagine 40% of the country dying, which has happened.
At some point in future there will be something more contagious than covid and more deadly than Ebola. I hope I'm long gone by then.In a way this is correct. UK deaths are up by roughly around 7% this year. If something like Ebola was more contagious the number of deaths would be much much more.
When?

While I don't agree with having another lockdown or closing the schools. I think unfortunately pubs need to remain closed. Drunk people absolutely do not follow the distancing rules. Plus I think while out and about in town or shopping, masks should be made mandatory even outside on the street.
Once they pull their fingers out and get the vaccine out quicker, the next concern is the financial recovery of the country. Unemployment will be of levels none of us have ever seen. There will be no jobs for our kids for years and years.

It's pretty difficult getting 18+ year olds to follow the advice, kids aren't able to do it. If people had listened to the teaching unions from day one, then the transmission of the disease could have been slowed significantly.
I will concede that our infrastructure does not support online teaching to any real degree. A lot of Children simply do not have access to a working computer in this country, never mind internet speeds capable of streaming classes. I distinctly remember someone talking about this in the last election, and then being told that they were preaching "broadband communism".
We need to get real about this.
Haven't we got the worst broadband network in Europe? It's disgraceful really..It's pretty difficult getting 18+ year olds to follow the advice, kids aren't able to do it. I don't know how it can be fixed. The Tories certainly won't be doing it..The next concern has to be making sure we fix the mess that is public health, so that when this comes back (or something much worse this way comes) we don’t get ruined by it. We’ve got to have better protection than we do now.
