FFS how can this region be still in Tier 2 with cases rising fast?

...because we’re the flagship for world class track & trace. I’m bald but I just booked a haircut for next week before the inevitable happens!!

So, a new strain has been discovered coming from South Africa. This Government stops all flights coming in from South Africa. Seems a bit ironic that following discovery of the U.K. strain, the Government has been critical of France for closing its borders to entry from UK.

It's a comfort to know that you have the support of the GOT family at times like these. It's one of the things that makes this such a fantastic forum.

Now D day has been and gone the enormity of this has sunk in, and it could be weeks before we know whether the transfusion has been successful or not. Due to covid my brother has to endure this in complete isolation so it's going to be a difficult Christmas for him. If it works it will al be worthwhile though.

Why don't they show a touch if intelligence and think "Hey, if we locked down BEFORE things got out of control, we could nip it in the bud early doors".

....I can’t help think back to them in Opposition blaming Labour for the Economic crash and Labour doing very little since to refute that allegation. If Labour were in power now the Conservatives would be all over this if they were making the same hash of things.

There’s a bottom line to this that should be getting churned out; we’re near the bottom of the death ratio league table of well-off nations & we’re in a deeper financial recession than other well-off nations. Every time Hancock talks with that smarmy, superior approach he should be reminded of that.

That's not quite true Eggs. Throughout this whole pandemic countries have continued to allow the flow of produce. Hauliers and the like have not been subjected to bans and quarantines and the flow of produce from South Africa will continue during the new ban.

It's this flow of produce that France has stopped by closing it's ports and that's the reason they have been getting criticism, even from fellow EU countries in fairness.

Not surprised Cornwall has gone into tier 2. When Hancock mentioned he had made some changes to the South West I feared we may have jumped straight to tier3.

Cases have more than trebled over the last 2 weeks and sadly it would seem tens of thousands have already moved down here to their second homes for the Christmas period. Most of these from London and the South East, so no doubt bringing the new strand of the virus with them.
