However, it's just been used as a crap, nonsense excuse for them 'cancelling Xmas' (which I honestly don't think anyone cares about at this stage). We knew it would be crap.

I don't think another full scale, long-term lockdown is good for anything except damaging more people than it would save. But I expect we'll see some form of lockdown in January when this mutant ninja strain magically appears up north.

The increase in nfection in the south east has to be behavioural causes: until recently they left London and the south east in Tier 2 when they should have been in Tier 3. That's resulted in a massive rate of infection in the most populous part of our country.

Exactly, and it's why it annoys me so much that the media and MPs didn't question it at the time.

It's no surprise, as it's all so London-centric, but it completely undermined the Tier system. A system which, for its faults, has worked in the areas which have been in Tier 3 this last month.

The new ultra strain seems like bullshit to me, London was absolutely chocker with Xmas shoppers while in tier 2, that’s your uprise in figures. The claim that is variant has been seen in Australia is not true, the suspected ultra strain there was found to be a patient zero telling lies.

The vaccine results - is it based on preventing COVID all together or just the efficacy of it? So say the 90% Pfizer result does that mean 90% didnt catch Covid all together or that 90% didnt get seriously ill from it?

It's based on preventing covid all together.

The Oxford vaccine may not stop some people getting Covid but the symptoms will be very mild.

Combined with the fact it's cheap and easy to transport and store makes it most likely to be the vaccine that is used globally, unless a better option becomes available.
