Now that the UK is under a full blockade due to the super virus I'm pretty confident that panic buying will start soon.

What time today do the media start putting articles up about stocks being low?

I think they're using the new variant thing as their excuse to cover up that their plan didn't work - and that was almost certainly down to having London and the south east in Tier 2 for no valid reason, when areas of the north (all of Yorks and most of Lancs) have been in T3. And in those T3 areas - Yorkshire especially - rates have gone down.

One thing having both sides of the channel in lockdown will probably help with in January is a decrease in traffic and, as such, you'd think less congestion at the borders. If it's only essential goods coming in, then it may buy more time for certain agreements to be reached?

Does seem odd it's been identified as we generally move back indoors for several months over winter. Most people are aware that cold viruses thrive in our winter environment... Dress rehearsal for January 1st and we already again sickman of Europe.

Does my head in though, the media cause the panic by talking unconfirmed nonsense. People could end up panic buying now and you know for a fact the Daily Mail have a photographer waiting outside supermarkets for the story.

Our local supermarket was practically empty this morning. Perhaps a reflection of people not watching the news on a Sunday evening.

They'll find a half busy supermarket somewhere for the photos. Its similar to what they did with beaches and parks earlier in the year.

With this and a no deal Brexit around the corner? I'd be absolutely amazed if there weren't supply issues in the shops.
