Im Gucci Dave.

But just in case anybody believes you, once more.

in participants who received a low dose followed by a standard dose, efficacy was 90·0%
...and that finding is unsafe as it was only carried out on a small number of test participants and they had no older people in it...which is a general issue with the Oxford vaccine: it has not tested the over 65s to any great degree.

Did the BBC tell you this Dave?

I've found that misinformation is more deadly than any virus.

Misinformation is the biggest killer around today.

People read things, then they take those things as gospel.

Educate yourself people, make up your own mind, do not be a puppet for main stream media.
Sometimes its misinterpretation rather than intentional misinformation, like what you're discussing with @davek right now here is the source, direct from Oxford:

The efficacy data are based on 11,636 volunteers across the United Kingdom and Brazil, and combined across three groups of people vaccinated – two groups who received a standard dose prime vaccination followed by a standard dose booster vaccination and one group (in the UK only) who received a low dose prime vaccination followed by a standard dose vaccination.

The pooled analysis in the study shows that the overall vaccine efficacy at least 14 days after the second dose was 70.4%; the standard dose / standard dose sub-groups showing 62.1% efficacy, and with the low dose / standard dose sub-group demonstrating 90.0% efficacy. No hospitalisations or severe disease were observed in the vaccinated groups.

Now, none of us are vaccination experts so interpreting that is very difficult and means we're liable to misinterpret it. Best any of us can do is wait for smarter people than ourselves to make the decisions.

That's what I'm intent on undermining by handing people info from sources like The Lancet.

Make no mistake: this AstraZenica vaccine is a cheap low efficacy vaccine that will not serve the elderly population well enough for them to be adequately protected.

I wouldn't have a worry if I knew I was getting the Pfizer vaccine. The Oxford vaccine though....
So do you worry for the elderly and clinically vulnerable, or do you worry about yourself?

You’ll get what your given and you’ll be getting the Oxford vaccine even if they have to inject it into your left arse cheek. And you’ll be lucky.

To be honest Dave your source is the BBC.

You support the BBC now?

Yikes.

Not one person who took the Oxford vaccine became seriously ill or died.

Your continued focus on the efficacy percentage, instead of wether it stops people from becoming very ill or dying just shows your level of ingorance. Keep on chatting wham though.

The vaccine results - is it based on preventing COVID all together or just the efficacy of it? So say the 90% Pfizer result does that mean 90% didnt catch Covid all together or that 90% didnt get seriously ill from it?

To be fair, there were 3 issues (no deaths)
"The authors further report on an extensive safety database from volunteers in the UK, Brazil and South Africa accompanying the efficacy findings; of 23,848 trial volunteers, and over 74,000 ‘person-months’ of safety follow up, only three from 175 reported serious adverse events were possibly related to the vaccine. The trial protocols, and statistical analysis method are presented in the appendices to the paper.

Of these, one was considered ‘possibly related’ to the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine, one occurred in the control group, and a further case of severe fever in the vaccinated group was considered to be an expected vaccine-related event."

3 out of nearly 24,000 is absolutely within safety margins.

I worry for people who are vulnerable and those in the very old age groups. Myself after that. But thanks for your helpful intervention.

Even if the vaccine is only 60-70% effective, why would you still not want it?

I'll take any of them when offered
