This Xmas lockdown is gonna go down very badly....
What are you talking about, I mean it will be received badly by people who have made plans and in the right wing pressWhat... more badly than the grief and loss that will be experienced when thousands of people get wiped out in the New Year?
That’s all that get a flu shot? That seems odd. Not sure where you got the figures from, but in a normal year, they offer a vax to sommet like the over 68s, or some random age group. This year its everyone over 50, plus some school ages.
It's the transparent naked BS of the "new strain" thing that gets me.
Must have an excuse for the spread in precious London.
Tossers.

In the US it is everyone 6 months and up
No where did I say 80000 deaths was nothing! Approx 40000 each year die from flu. My argument was there is no lockdown every year due to the amount of flu deaths. Every death is a tragedy but life must go on. There is nothing wrong with people saying we have approached this situation in th wrong manner. This is my thinking now. But I understand the counter argument and people are entitled to their own opinions without getting shouted down. You say 80000 dead like it’s nothing - they would have been the people that fought in the wars, that survived the Blitz, who sacrificed so much for the country. Also remember that in that same decade the same government was letting kids die in their school in Wales, had seen nothing wrong with thalidomide and would trash the railways and wrecked the economy anyway.
They are being done by GP surgeries but it is going slow due to the computer program for taking details of people hascrsshed so it is being done by pen and paper now.My parents been told to get their first CV jab on Tuesday. Means they are being organised by local GP surgeries. Some hope, at last.
Can't stand watching that idiot talk. How he ever bluffed his way to the top job in the country I will never know!Press conference announced for later on.

The financial cost of these lockdownsis horrendous. I was fully behind the first lockdown but for me we cannot afford to go into continuous lockdown. Hopefully we can get clearance for this Oxford vaccine so we can all get out off this situation
Doesn’t seem like BS at this point. All four nations are concerned about it.
...I'm going to dive head first into one anyway!!I don't kni
It still is. Its mutated numerous times before now - for some reason, and while I don't want to buy into conspiracies, there seems to be massive political will to lockdown and destroy the economy.
Whether its to retune the economy ahead of Brexit away from hospitality, or simply to hide the negative effects of Brexit behind COVID, or just plain incompetence, I don't know, but their actions are nonsensical to me.
