I'd imagine he has a pretty decent idea what the process for approving a vaccine is. Although as I'm sure Gavin Williamson would point out, he's not British.
He has no clue whatsoever as to what the British did. It could have been identical to the FDA for all he knows. He lacks the information needed to make a judgement.
His comments are nationalist and bitter. And extremely irresponsible.
Why would he be bitter about it? I'm not American but if there is any body I'd be looking to sign off on a drug its the FDA.
They are all looking at the same data and doing the same processes to make sure its safe so to say Faucci has no clue what the process for the UK to approve is just stupid quite frankly.

He doesn't know our processes. He admits he doesn't. He's coming out and guessing - outright guessing, with no data whatsoever - that we rushed it.
When I say he has no clue I mean literally that - no knowledge or experience in the UK medical regulatory system. None. His expertise in his field doesn't extend to vaccine approval processes in the UK. He has none.
He has as much validity in coming out and saying it was rushed as you and me would.
He's reacted that way to shield himself politically from accusations of being "slow". He could have done so without the nationalist political BS.

He's a scientist, he should know better. He came out and stated baldly the UK "rushed" it.
He's rightly apologised. The idiot. Untold damage from that petulant comment.
It's what he did. He was doing press rounds and went defensive at the suggestion the US was "slow" - his defence was to attack the UK approach as "rushed".
He's a moron for doing it. Probably just killed a number of people with his remarks.
