Ha Ha.

That first line was an aborted post.

I was about to tag you in when BlueStevies post came up. Forgot to clear my post to you.

Anyway, I was about to tag you to ask what your thoughts on the Guardian article are on what looks like the broken promise to care homes and their workers given the vaccine "cant be moved" and that sector will have to wait or go and get an inferior vaccine (you have a daughter working in that sector?))
I think something is better than nothing at this point Dave.

I also don't think the Oxford vaccine is as "bad" as some are making out.

Time will tell on that.

This Oxford vaccine sounds a bit flakey.

I said immediately that they rushed out those findings before thinking how to properly communicate it to the public... and to be honest before they knew what the hell it meant.

You can't quote two different efficacy rates and not expect the public to turn around and go "well, which one is right then?"

I agree that 60% is better than nothing.

But my main point is about the promise to deliver a vaccine - as first in the queue with NHS workers - to care home residents and workers, which is now being sidelined with the introduction of some story about 'difficulty to move the vaccine 4 times'. It sounds to me like they have limited amounts in stock of the Pfizer drug and cant secure the required doses for what they promised. Now we have to wait on the vaccine they backed heavily, which isn't as efficacious.

They are a bunch of clowns who should be nowhere near power. They;ve over promised and undelivered. "Game changer". "World best". Vermin.

Wont see me disagreeing Dave.

Horrid people, blood on their hands.

I've never been confident about the calibre of people bringing that vaccine to market. That "Sir" John Bell character who is head of the vaccine taskforce always comes across as a Pollyanna and a bit flakey.

We dont want cajoling along, we want the truth and hard facts. We were given a rushed out statement because the Oxford-AstraZenica vaccine was left in the starting stalls by Pfizer and then Moderna.

The people who are governing this crisis are not serious players. We are being failed on every single level.

Looks like Arcadia are going under 13000 job gone horrible, feel so much for those people who will lose their jobs.
It's grim for those who will lose their jobs, but it isn't Covid that has made this happen - Green could keep that company afloat very easily but is choosing not to. It's a black mark on the club that we were ever involved with the scumbag.

Yeah, my Mrs was made redundant from there just before the pandemic hit.

It’s been on the cards for a while and they were planning on closing shops across the country anyway.

Its not even about them losing money. It’s all about the company not wanting to pay the rent anymore.

The situation in retail at the moment is very, very grim and now you’re going to have another 15,000 on the scrapheap all fighting for minimum wage jobs just to survive.
