Things are open now...what you mean presumably is you want ale houses open again (they wont be, btw) and places that sell expensive food for mugs re-opened...unfortunatley they will be.

Nope. Will be grateful to get the cinema, play football and hopefully see my Mrs again.

Pubs aren’t even on my radar as they won’t be open. Continue to cast your aspersions though.

All licensed premises, inc pubs ( that serve food ) hotels, B&B’s and restaurants etc will be open next week mate.

Due to this, he’s in mourning at the mo and asks for some privacy and to be given time to grieve.

It's all about sales and its all about not wanting to be the government that cancelled Christmas for a nation of utter cry babies.

Seems to me that the best Christmas gift of all is not to infect and potentially kill other people...and most probably "loved ones". But what do I know.
Boris is desperate to be popular. There are enough oafs about who will be hugging strangers in the pub, safe in the knowledge that a vaccine is riding over the horizon.

Expect a big spike in January and February. The virus will go out like a lion.

Right, what do you want them to do though?

There is just no sustainable way to get through this other than a vaccine.

People's lives are being completely ruined. There will be no hospitality sector for a good long time after this. And that's people's entire businesses and livelihoods gone.

I can't stand this PM or the government. But I don't know what people want them to do right now. They should have gone into lockdown earlier in October, but at least we have seen evidence that the Tier systems worked in terms of limiting the spread prior to the national lockdown.

Surely that's the way to go now until the vaccine starts to be phased in?

Nobody is suggesting to open everything up at Christmas, and based on the Tier systems, a lot of stuff won't be. That's bad enough for people as it is.

Fine.

I didn't know that blood clots are potential side effect of covid as I have not seen it mentioned at all these past 8 months.

So if that makes me look like a nobhead then so be it for my lack of awareness on that.

For record I sent the family money on the fundraiser anyway so something good came from this anywau.

It may not have been mentioned on here, but clots are not uncommon. Many organization have published interim guidelines to give patients an anticoagulant while in the hospital especially in severe disease and based on labs/markers that suggest a hypercoagulable state.

Depending on the hospital course and said labs/markers some patients go home still on anticoagulants.

I think the major thing we have learned over the past 9 months is that COVID-19 isn't just a respiratory disease. It has much more complex effects in multiple organ systems and symptoms can be quite varied.

Balls to all this 'no one gets the vaccine until its proven its safe'.

We haven't time man - just give it to us and lets hope for the best.

This isn't living its existing - would rather take my chance with the jab and be a free man again than another year of this crushing boredom.

Did you sign up to be part of the vaccine trials ....seeing as you don't mind whether it's safe or not?
There were/are trials in the Liverpool area.

No chance not worth the risk - its been 10 months since trials started though I dont get the difference a couple of weeks makes with this "reviewing" the results have come in so lets just get it permitted and lets start saving lives.

These two statements don't seem to be congruent.

Vaccine trials usually take years. This has already been amazingly fast (that happens when you throw money at something).

What is the point of doing the trials if the results aren't analyzed? Particularly by independent reviewers who aren't going to be making gobs of money off it.

Wait are you saying restaurants are ‘places that sell expensive food for mugs’?
