Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Just watching BBC evening news with footage from Yorkshire, everyone out having a good time, open air market on the go, folk mingling everywhere. I thought there was a lockdown in England? Looked like a normal Sunday to me. Baffled.

Show me a single health organisation or scientist that blames China.

I will wait.

China told the whole world on 31st December that they had discovered a deadly virus.

Its not their fault that the whole world ignored them.

China did delay revealing the true situation with the virus spread. They did, through the WHO, attempt to say human to human transmission was not known as late as mid January.

The virus originated in markets which followed shocking health and safety and food standards, yet the authoritarian government chose not to shut them down. The same government who don’t even allow citizens to access the open Internet.

How are they not to blame ?

I agree.

A respiratory virus in the 21st century coincidentally originated in china , they covered it's seriousness up for months despite its potential to be pandemic level of danger. The virus got free of China and it was up to other countries to contain it themselves to stop it getting out of control.

A virus that is thought to have originated from a mammal transferred over to humans and its effect led to deaths. In fact despite no official confirmation , it is theorised to come from bats by some scientists.

It's effects did spread to other countries and it was found to be spread much the same way as influenza or other coronaviruses.

..…................................................

Oh wait. That's the first one that came from China 17 years ago.

This all happened literally 17 years ago, similar virus , similar source , the same country, same cover up , actually came clean about it in the same month with a similar time scale since they discovered it.

The two viruses are named sars-cov-1 and sars-cov-2.

Like I say, there is coincidence and there is pattern. Of the hundreds of different countries in this world, the same country has developed two pandemic level respiratory viruses within 16 years of each other from the same bats.

Funny that.

An administration that 'sought to downplay the potential threat of the virus and initially lobbied against “excessive actions”, such as the early declaration of a global health emergency and travel bans'....

Hmmm, that sounds familiar.

It couldn't be that all governments act like this, could it?

Also, as a Singapore based infectious disease expert stated: “You’ve got to remember this was a novel virus and chaos is really normal, especially at the beginning of an outbreak,” said Dr Fisher, who has experience working in west African Ebola hotspots and was a member of a WHO delegation that visited China in mid-February. “You don’t want to push [the panic] button until you’ve got reasonable confidence [in your diagnosis].”

Itz der Chyna Virus lad.

There is no lockdown. Never has been since the spring. Not one.

It’s very peculiar that you’re so against any criticism of China’s handling of the virus, and resort to desperate nonsense like the last line of your post.
