Interesting point someone made to me this morning when it comes to the general age of death from covid and the known underlying issues.

The fact that people are taking medication for said issues, they are prolonging their life that way once you hit 75 plus.

So someone dying above that age especially and in many cases under that , is it s big surprise? Given that th majority of deaths from covid are happening in those age brackets with serious underying issues.

It's a different perspective at least, much the same as without said medication would that person be alive still? Their opinion came from a 103 year old man dying being called full of life.

This is why ideally pensioners should take the vaccine as soon as possible. Number of deaths would fall off completely almost straight away. A very small percentage of people under 65 die, I believe its similar to influenza in regards to deaths once you get below age 65 or so.

The average age for a covid death in the UK is about 83 which is similar to life expectancy. Vaccinating the older generation has to be the immediate focus.

It is.

I am not a numbskull as I wear a mask and have been at home since about March and actually have 130 hours of holiday to book by this week so that's my December vacation at home ;)

The numbskulls are people like you crapping themselves over COVID 19, a 'disease' by all accounts that kills people - mostly the old and infirm or people with underlying health conditions which make up about 90% of cases -- duh. Globally in terms of deaths world wide COVID 19 is far down the pecking order compared to heart and lung disease, influenza, and of course air pollution.

if anything its increasing deaths due to lock down syndrome, mental health issues, suicide and neglecting everyone else on the NHS waiting list for other diseases

If you want to play internet god with someone else loved one go ahead...

Indeed the vast majority of people will not die, however, worryingly taste and smell is effected and widely reported in mild cases, this concerns because its a virus that's neurological (that mush between your ears) as well as respiratory.

Where would those numbers be without lockdown?

Why are this lot lagging behind others? They seem way behind, and their update today has been provoked by the success of other vaccines.

I get the nagging feeling that this government have put near all our eggs in this AstraZeneca basket and we'll pay for it.

Right from the off this government have made error after catastrophic error. So I have no great confidence in them delivering a vaccine in the numbers we need them in from this 'home' source.

I think it’s just a different kind of vaccine. It works in a different way. I don’t think you can say they are dragging their feet. We’ve only had two announcements so far. There are loads of programs.

Also factor in the MHRA, the British version of the American FDA are a fair bit stricter than than the FDA.
Plus Trump, love him or hate him, (I'm the latter)has removed lots of barriers/ restrictions around the American owner vaccine companies, which has helped Moderna, Pfizer get through their products a lot faster than normal. Time will tell whether that is right or wrong.

They had to stop the testing trial for a few weeks in Sep due to a safety concern.

There results will be released very shortly i believe.

Personally I’m not worried about catching it, wife had it last month but she was lucky and only had minor symptoms but still suffering with fatigue.

I’m only concerned about passing on.

Why do you keep posting stats from years gone by?? I mean what does 2016 have to do with COVID???

You’re a numbnuts as you said it was a farce with your previous post.

The NHS before this was already stretched, they don’t want to neglect people with other conditions but they are struggling to cope with the raising cases in COVID which has a knock on effect on other treatments.

It’s a few minutes past 12 when it comes to COVID as we have no idea on the long term damage it has done.

But in your head it’s a farce, I would dare you to say that to someone in the NHS who is dealing with the current crisis.

If restrictions are lifted for Christmas ‘we’ll be burying family in January
There is no point having a very merry Christmas and then burying friends and relations in January and February

Sick of this type of media now after 8 months.

There was no pandemic or measures last year and both me and the wife were burying family in January.

Just sick of reading stuff like this .
