No - try reading it again. I said that was something I was NOT saying!
You were pointing out there is a scenario where the number of cases can increase but the overall number or infected can decrease.
yes, that is possible. But not at the current rate of growth in infections.

In your scenario the r0 would need to be below one.

Not true.

Behave !

From https://www.bupa.co.uk/health-information/childrens-health/flu

People tend to get it around the same time every year. In the UK, people usually get seasonal flu between December and March, although outbreaks can happen as early as October and as late as May.

If you really are just misinformed, take a look at the info at

Hospital figures - 188 deaths were announced today, down 70 on yesterday and up 90 on last Sunday. 137 deaths were in English hospitals, down 71 on yesterday and up 61 on last week with 135 occurring in the past 10 days. The 7 day rolling average rises to 212.86

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 162 deaths were announced today, down 164 on yesterday and up 11 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 260.14

For the 60 day cut off, 165 deaths were announced today, down 171 on yesterday and up 7 on last Sunday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 269.14

Is that happening? Or is it just twitter crap?

Mad if so.

Like, I know of tons of folk who live in Chepstow and Newport who have jobs in Bristol. I am sure its the same right up to North Wales, and vica versa most likely.

Surely if their job is in England then only English furlough rules apply to said people no matter where they live.
