All very true. Currently and for the foreseeable future, teachers play Russian roulette every time they go into work. Yet they do so and very largely, without complaint.

Why change the narrative? It’s the teachers unions I tell you! They don’t care about the children! They just want a free holiday. That’s all. They just want to relax.

Teachers are in school whether or not schools are fully open like they are at the moment or only open for vulnerable and key workers. Teaching unions are paid to protect their members, and at the moment, schools are a hot bed of transmission more than anywhere else.

Rather than blaming the profession and implying that members are lazy, blame the government who promised to provide vulnerable children laptops so they can access learning at home but haven’t. If this was done as it was supposed to be the first time round, we would be in a position where learning at home and accessing school part time could be a workable solution. Instead, the government is happy to blindly allow the key demographic of transmission to continue to spread this virus for nothing but political reasons.

More more you want more... Feeding children is an ideological battle ground for children let alone letting them have computer, they would end up selling that crack they traded in the food voucher on the dark web, or similar.

And It's only a matter of time the great and good academia awknolwedge that education establishments are hotbed for COVID transmission just as any other virus...

If you have kids and the government cave and close schools you’ll just have to quit your job mate. I think that’s what some people on here want to say but are just falling short of.

After the first lockdown - I was off for 5 months with my 7 year old daughter (my wife was a key worker) my boss / bitter work mates weren't happy, but just had to suck it up. If the schools close again I'll do the same thing again.

Love to be in a position to do that (be put on furlough) But the powers above my boss are circling like hawks looking for heads. Don’t want to put my head above the parapet.

It'll be into the new year before we see these restrictions lifted. Schools will be added to them too.

End of the flu season could be the point its safe to release again.
