He didn`t say which Christmas though lol

It's too late now whatever Christmas. The rate of infection is out of control. Hospital Covid-19 wards and intensive care units are being stretched to capacity. Most likely end up in a full lock-down, whether by direct action or stealth, which will last for longer and probably cause more economic harm than if we'd taken steps sooner. Once again the Tory government has failed through indifference and languor to put the health of the nation first.

Schools and colleges should be shut. And so should anything else transmitting this. May as well open the ale houses if they leave restaurants open though.
Stable door with that one

Its safe indoors innit...

It's probably better to drink in a responsibly run bar rather than loading up at Tesco and having mates round to your house. That's what's happening in Scotland - thousands of parties and police running around breaking them up.

All the responsible Pubs are shut currently.

Sadly if there is more damage to the country by a forced lockdown now , the only story to be told will be the government ignoring the advice to do it a lot sooner.

That has to be a death knell to the Tories , the time when they ignored scientific advice in a pandemic

For interest. Evidence from the Eat out to Help out scheme. Thread...

I got ridiculed on here by certain people for stating that restaurant owners were making a good profit out of the pandemic. They are absolutely coining it in. The funds theylve had thrown at them have been massive and they've beed subsudised by the state more than any sector. Even closing the pubs and leaving them open was no doubt part designed to channel custom their way.

And in the context of school free meals being denied it's obscene.

I detest that restaurant sector - covid19 rat industry and one that undermines public health by providing a dangerous environment for the virus infection.

Indeed...and yet the total focus of the media now is on the labour party shenanegins.
The former have been complicit in failing to hold this corrupt and sleazy government to account.
Bozo and cummings must be laughing their heads off.
A lot of folk just read the headlines on the front page and believe they are being told the truth.
Meanwhile in the real world deaths and hospital admissions are steadily rising...are the media bored with Covid?
Appalling state of affairs
